Two of us spent the night here during our trip around the South Island. First, reception was friendly and provided all the information we needed for our stay. Parking is available but very tight, so choose your spot carefully. The rooms were clean and a kitchenette provided, although I only used the sink. Bathroom is tight but provides exactly what...

Recently stayed here for a week. It's really good if you don't spend much time in there ! I stayed the double private room with my boyfriend! The one thing I looked for in a hostel/ hotel is free wi-fi which barely worked in the reception let alone in our room! So be carefully if you book this hostel and...

I would highly recommend Southern Laughter. The vibe was super comfortable and felt very cozy. There are two big kitchens and two lounge rooms. Everyone was very friendly and happy to help. Felt like a perfect home for the week in Queenstown. The location is perfect for exploring the city. Very wifi was okay but only worked in the lounge...

Stayed here for 1 night and that was well and truly enough for me to realise I never wanted to stay here again. If you're looking for a place in Queenstown- book the Sir Cedric Tahuna Pods instead (cannot believe these two are even in the same family). Staff was ok- parking was available but had the narrowest entry and...

Management response:

Hi there, So, what you are saying is that you aren't very confident with parking skills? We have been full every night over the summer (120 people per night) and can I just say that you are the first person to complain about our FREE parking, something that most accommodations in central Queenstown do not have! As for your comment...

Very depressing hostel with little to no effort to maintain itself. It advertises a hot tub but once you see it you'll be running to the nearest hostel. I booked two nights here but could only stay for one as the room I was put in was very small and a bunk bed that swings with every slight movement meant...

This was a really great hostel! The main man at reception was so kind and helpful, making our trip even better! We booked paragliding with them and got a small discount! Hostel was clean, comfy beds and lounges, had FREE popcorn and soup at night, DVDs to watch and decent wifi! Amazing location, walkable to everything you need. Highly recommend...

We stayed in a double for 3 nights. Room was basic but spacious and clean. Staff here super friendly. Close to town, a 5 min walk from everything. Small kitchens however the free soup provided every night means that there is always available cooking space. Spa pool free to use! I'd recommend to anyone on a budget. Only thing I...

We stayed here for 3 nights in a 6 bed dorm. The free parking enticed us to book here, and we were glad that we did. It's a 5 minute stroll to the main part of town, 5 minutes to the gondola too. The free soup was great, also free popcorn in reception area. The free WiFi worked well in...

Clean rooms and facilities. We stayed in a private room which had a comfortable double bed and a tv not that we used it. The staff are very friendly and were happy to help with anything. The hostel has unlimited free wifi which is pretty slow during peak times but if you're around in off peak times it's quite fast....

We stayed here for 3 nights and would have probably changed hostels if there was any vancancies around Queenstown. Stayed in a four bed dorm, Very very small room with no lockers or charging stations anywhere close to bed. There's a little kitchen and one tiny shower for 8 people. Everything especially in the kitchen is very very old!!! Not...

Management response:

Hi Olivia I'm sorry to read that you didn't enjoy your stay with us here at Southern Laughter. Many of our share rooms have private kitchens that many guests appreciate as it enables them to avoid the two large main kitchens and lounge areas, there is a table on the private balcony. The hostel has multiple showers throughout as well...
