I stayed two separate nights at the Earnslaw lodge. The first night we had an absolutely magnificent view of the lake, definitely the best part of the room. The beds were totally adequate and the bathroom was fair. On the second night our room did not have a view but did have a nice outdoor area to sit and relax. In this room however, the bed was extremely hard and the shower was very short, I had to duck slightly to get under. I'm only 5'8, not exactly a giant. The staff were very friendly when they were around but you had to ring the bell at the desk everytime to get their attention they never seemed to just be around. The bathroom was not complimentary so we decided to skip on this, but there was a nice space for breakfast if you chose that option. Complimentary tea and instant coffee were provided in the room. It's definitely on the more affordable side for Queenstown and it does have great views if you're on the lakeside, but don't expect anything fancy with your room.

The view from our room was incredible. Amazing, picture perfect view of The Remarkables and Lake Wakatipu. The hotel is dated and we needed to ask for a few things that were forgotten however we were provided with anything we needed when we asked. One big plus was the enormous radiator that kept us warm, and there’s one in the bathroom so our towels stayed warm, too. Don’t expect modern comforts, but if you just want a clean, comfortable room with a view most places would charge a lot more for, then this served us wonderfully. We also had the best nights’ sleep here.

We stayed for a night here (after 3 days' stay in another hotel nearby) during Christmas/ New Year peak season when hotel rooms in Queenstown are so demanding and we were nearly unable to book a room. So when we noticed vacancy at this lodge, we were so delighted and booked without hesitation.

One needs to walk a bit uphill from the city centre for 15 mins. I find the location fine though. There is a bus stop just in the opposite side of the road where we got a public bus to the airport (15-20 mins ride).

Our rooms are not facing the lake but right next to the road. We were satisfied as the rooms were clean functional and very spacious.

For eating, seems there are no restaurants nearby although one may go to the hotels around for meals or otherwise make own meals with the microwave or toaster in the room.

A older motel style place, a short distance from the centre of Queenstown, though on the main road so our room facing the road was very noisy. The views on the other side had wonderful views and would have been worth the extra cost.
The rooms were reasonable size, clean and comfortable.
Very friendly and helpful front counter staff

Terrible service as soon as we walked in. The man who serviced us had no interest in helping us. I am disabled and even when our room was upstairs he didn't help me with my bags, and it was a challenge for me and my partner. The man told us the ground floor disability access rooms were no longer in use, however we saw people using those rooms. The room we were given is dark and dingy. I got this room on a 65% discount and even that seems too much for it. The bed was soft and uncomfortable. The shower terrible. There were 2 lights in the room that didn't work. In short stay somewhere else.

The owners could not blame the situation on Covid 19 as this dump was being run down well before the pandemic.
Outside in the carpark and balcony was broken glass, cigarette butts and broken furniture. The side exit was strewn with owners or managers collection of motorbike parts and rubbish.
The corridors were drab, dingy and smelt of stall cigarette smoke.
Our room "Kitchen Studio" was musty and very tired. We had to request towels first night none replaced for the 2nd night.
We had prepaid via Agoda so could not ask for refund, as would have been out of there "like a shot".
My advice "do not Stay there.

Vicki was awesome! We loved our location, our gorgeous view of the lake, and our comfy room. We really appreciated that Vicki took time to recommend excursions and show us how to get around town easily.

The rooms were very clean and a good size. The kitchenette was convenient, and it was so nice that staff took our dirty dishes every day. We appreciated having laundry facilities on site, and we liked all the community space and sitting areas available at Earnslaw Lodge . It was also easy to walk anywhere around the downtown area in 15 minutes or so. Recommended!

Sadly this motel is dated, noisy and not good value, the beds are so soft I slept on the ground, the noise from other rooms was terrible. Car parking is available but it’s tight, great heating, the view is beautiful but I won’t be staying again. It’s right on the road but not noisy and quite close to town if you know the gardens path.

We stayed in room 5 for two nights and were pleased with all aspects of the stay - Steve was on reception and allowed us to check in ahead of schedule, the room was clean and well equipped and the view of the lake was amazing. It was only a short walk into the city centre and the bus stop to/from the airport is just outside. On the day we left, we were able to leave our bags in reception until we needed to leave for the airport.

The place seems a little run down and the walls were very thin. Bed was comfortable and the view from the balcony was amazing. There were only 3-4 off-street parks and this was awkward for our tour van with its luggage trailer. The road is very busy but rooms were at the back so noise wasn't too bad.
It was great to be able to choose our own breakfast items from the buffet instead of having preselected items delivered to the room.

I am sorry but not being a vegetarian I am unsure. However, the owner was very accommodating and I am sure that if you direct your question to the hotel itself I am sure they will assist.
