We booked a tent site and were surprised at how lovely this little campground was. The camp kitchen was great - user of gas stoves, cookware and crockery, and dishwashing supplies, all included in the price. A fridge and freezer was also available. Owner was lovely, knowledgeable about local walks and the road (if driving into Milford Sound), and happily...

It is a complete indulgence in the nature within Knobs Flat. The tranquillity and emerging toIt is the best equipped campsite after you leave Te Anau for Milford Sound. It is around 1 hour drive from Milford Sound so it is so much closer than Te Anau saving some time to sleep before you go for the Milford Sound cruise....

I thought staying out in the middle of nowhere would be an ordeal and so was pleasantly surprised. Ok it's not a five star hotel but everything you need was there. And the view from the bed was the best. Location was perfect for doing the magnificent walks around. Both PC and Linda were lovely people, informative and helpful. This...

Stayed in the larger unit. Comfy and warm bed. Room for three people. Good gas heater. Small fridge and stove. No oven. Shared BBQ. Nice outlook.... but some road noise. Awful bathroom... with mould in the corners and on the shower curtain. The water from the shower covered the floor during showers. No heater in the bathroom. Still an hours...

Great location for scenery and wildlife: we had a pair of rifleman nesting right outside our cabin window. Recommend a birding trip with PC: he's extremely knowledeable and a great guide to be with. Within easy reach of Milford Sound and with a whole range of walks on the doorstep. The units are well-equipped and comfortable: good showers! PC and...

Fantastic place less that an hour's drive to Milford Sound. Scenery to die for and great hospitality from PC (your host). We stayed in a cabin which is very well fitted out. Cooker, fridge, gas heater, with en-suite hot shower and flushing toilet. You need to bring your own food and drinks (except water). I worried about missing the place...

Wanted to stay in Te'anau but seemed fully booked. Discounted Knobs Flat on first view but Hobsons' choice meant we had to book. On arrival PC gave a great welcome and showed us to the cabin. All important amenities in one small package! It may have been raining outside but inside was warm, dry and welcoming. Bring your food with...
