We had booked 3 nights accommodation here but once we saw the room we cancelled two nights. We couldn't find one nights accommodation anywhere in town, so we had to stay at Fiordland. The hotel reception is one of the most uninspiring, dingy, nasty I've ever seen. Lovely little receptionist Nicki, very friendly and helpful gave us our key. Then...

This place looked lovely on their website but in reality it is run down. Our room appeared to have been recently redecorated and the bed was comfortable however the walls had marks on them, there was little sound proofing and there were not enough towels. It was adequate but if we hadn't pre-booked we probably would have checked out other...

Te Anau is a good place to stay if you are visiting Milford Sound - closer than Queenstown. Firstly, we would like to support "DameB2013" review. The website is gives a false impression. Staff were pleasant but this hotel is tired and neglected inside and out. Free wifi was a bonus. We had a "deluxe room" with lovely tiles on...

In future, when I hear the word dump I will think of this hotel. The rooms are cramped and inefficiently set out. The first thing you notice on opening your door is that the carpet has more waves than Bondi during a southerly. In our room there had been a desultory and cheap attempt to renovate the bathroom the result...

We had an upstairs room in the main block. It was well and recently decorated. The room was very clean and the bed was very comfortable. We didn't have any negative views on the hotel at all, but there are differently priced rooms which aren't at the same standard as ours.

We have travelled extensively in New Zealand and have come to expect a standard that has never disappointed so it was quite a shock to arrive at this hotel. We were greeted warmly at Reception and all seemed well but our hearts sank as we parked outside what resembled a 1970s hall of residence. Tatty carpet on the stair and...

This motel was on the outskirts of Te Anau which gave us a quiet stay but also allowed us easy access to the town. Te Anau is a small town but with sufficient restaurants to fulfill the needs of most traveller. The motel was in need of and upgrade but was clean and tidy. Unfortunately the bar was not open...

OK - what the hotel does provide is clean inexpensive accommodation. The Regency rooms have been renovated with lovely if small bathrooms (but with no air conditioning). The restaurant was only open for breakfasts (with pleasant and helpful staff). There is No Bar (except for large coach parties). The pool is small and cold. The mini golf holes are a...

We arrived from queenstown in the morning after booking earlier in the morning. Staff at the counter helped us out and allowed us to drop our bags off in the room early before heading out to do a milford sound cruise. The motel looked older in some parts but was not dirty which is the biggest thing for me. The...

i stayed here in october with some people from course. The rooms were really lovely to stay in and the staff very pretty helpful. i liked the pool table, juke box and the table tennis table. the fact that it was close to the town centre meant it was pretty handy.

Thank Matt M
