Stayed at Bazil's a couple weeks ago and couldn't have been impressed. Everything about our stay was amazing, our room was wicked, felt like we had our own apartment, and there was such a great laid back chilled out vibe to the whole place. This hostel knows where it's at.. Good vibes, amazing staff and supa comfy beds. Highly recommend this place. Guys who own it are more then helpful, even cooked us a mean feed :) they even do paddle boarding and surfing lessons. Its a chilled hippy vibe with hammocks and amazing artwork around the place. Great setup and kitchen has everything...

I had a brilliant time when I stayed at this hostel almost 2 years ago, and second time round - it got even better! Arriving mid afternoon we were warmly welcomed and shown to our room which was immaculately cleaned an had its own hippy/unique furnishing style, with the comfiest beds I've slept in, in a hostel in NZ. One of the nicest hostels I've stayed in on my trip. The staff were very friendly and there was always a great vibe. There's always something to do and I can't say I ever got bored staying here. The walls are filled with really cool art and there's also a great lounge that has a TV filled with free movies....

Welcoming, fun and homely atmosphere with all the amenities one can require of a hostel/backpackers. Loved chillin' in the hammock in the evening chatting with other travelers and the staff/owners. Two thumbs up :)

Bazil´s Hostel is an awesome place to stay. The staff are extraordinary friendly. The place is clean. There´s is free wifi. And for who´s in for it there is a low budget way learning surfing. If you´re staying 5 days or longer you got a surf lesson for free. An offer you cann´t resist. Free transportation to the beaches. And...

Friendly and helpful staff, comfortable beds, sociable atmosphere. Stayed here on a whim, only in Westport for 1 night but I would definitely stay here again. Local church bell made stay a little creepy but other than that allll goood stuffff.

Best hostel in NZ. Super accomodating. Lots of character. Great management. Good vibes. They are really helpful with lots of information. Also offer free surf lessons if you stay for 5 days. If you are in Westport this is a must visit.

Great place to stay in westport Friendly staff and management Clean dorms and tidy environment Big kitchen with all sort of utensils Walkable distance to town shopping I strongly recommend this hostel.
