This is the 2nd time my partner and I have been here and both times were amazing! Beautiful setting with amazing views. We have stayed in 2 different rooms and bother were modern & comfortable. Dinner and breakfast was great. The chef came out and asked us about our meal at dinner which was a nice touch. The 2nd night we had the platter in the lounge area (which was not there the last time we stayed) Loved the open bar and the fact we could relax on our own. I will definitely be back!

We stayed in penthouse 9 to celebrate our 10th wedding anniversary. As soon as we arrived the retreat was serene, peaceful and relaxing.
We were assisted to our room by one of the lovely owners Andrew, where complimentary bubbly and chocolate had been provided. The aircon was already running and soothing music was playing. The room was larger and more beautiful than it looked in the pictures.
We dined in our room on the first night with the gourmet platter which was delicious, we sat on our balcony overlooking the forest and ocean. It was an amazing night.
On the second day we enjoyed a couples massage in the day spa, took a bush walk down to Stanwell Park Beach, swam in the wet edge pool and then enjoyed a fantastic meal at dining on the edge.
The breakfast platters were delicious and the staff were careful to adhere to covid-19 protocols without negatively impacting the experience.
We took advantage of the outdoor stone bathtub on multiple occasions, most memorably at sunrise.
We will definitely be returning one day for another weekend escape, I will bring some mozzie coils next time though so we can enjoy the outdoor bath at night as well!

The gardens, lawns, van sites and camping grounds are truely lovely.
Camp kitchen is clean and has good basics.
I really liked the amenities block, with its separate shower lockable rooms that also have a loo and hand basin, must be great for parents. The eally wide shady elevated verandah around the block is excellent, perfect for putting shoes on and repacking shower bags, washing macines right there is a great idea!
Lots of lawns, bushlands, walking tracks, a pretty river to wander along.
I had a great evening meal at the cafe, a huge deck, surrounded by palms and flowering shrubs. Menu was diverse and service friendly and timely. Drinks very cold lots of ice. The food was very fresh, beautifly cooked and presented.
I came accross Tumbling waters while exploring that area, only camped one night/day but I will be taking family and friends back for a longer stay,,it was a very pleasant suprise indeed.

We celebrated our baby's halfway pregnancy mark at T.W.R. It was perfect for us. Contactless check in and staff were readily available via phone when we needed them.
When we walked into our room it was clean, it smelt clean, we took so many photos before touching anything, as we were just amazed with the presentation!
Not log after our check in, we entered the top deck dining for a platter.
Staff were always wearing masks, the usual check in app and sanitizer were complementary at the entrance and we felt re assured it was a safe place to stay even during the pandemic.
When you enter the top deck for dining I hope you come hungry! The service and the meals that they provide is EXTRA! A true Luxury experience on its own.
With a pair of identical twins on the way some of the food that we consume can be a little picky and the staff made an effort to accommodate.
Everything is fresh, well prepared and presented and my mouth is watering now just thinking about the best steak ever!
Hopefully you don't eat too much and can still walk back to your room to enjoy yourselves in the evening.
We enjoyed a moonlight bath outside with a complementary bottle of bubbly (that only I enjoyed).
What more can I tell you? From the relaxing spa style music when you enter the room, to the blackout curtains in the morning, to the remote control ceiling fan above the bed, to the air-conditioning that quickly adjusts the rooms temperature, to the open door style shower with a rain head. This is a truly luxury accommodation in every way.
The only suggestion I have to other guests and what we wish we had of done.
Book in an extra night!

When you first enter the property, you are welcomed by perfectly manicured gardens that make you feel like your in Fiji. The suite we stayed in was amazing, especially the outdoor marble bath for two!
We would have liked a little more privacy as people from the street and the neighbouring suites could partially see us in the bath, but I was too relaxed to care too much. The breakfast was amazing, all the food, including dinners, was fresh, cooked perfectly and tasty! The staff are lovely and caring. Karen, the manager was amazingly helpful for us. Sonja and Andrew, the owners, were always happy to make sure we were comfortable and enjoying our stay. They took the time to have a chat with us and get to know us. That personal touch was just awesome.

We had a relaxing 4 night stay at Tumbling Waters. Located just a short drive from Sydney CBD but still will feel like you've had a great getaway. We stayed in the Ocean Room which had a stunning view of the beach and a large balcony to enjoy. The tariff is reduced for this room as it mentions it is located in the centre of the lodge (Can be slightly noisey in the morning as it is below the dining area). Lovely surrounds and gardens with the resort spa and pool overlooking the valley. Some great bushwalking around the area too. The owners and staff have done an amazing job keeping the breakfast dining COVID safe. Table service with a large breakfast platter every morning with juice and coffee was excellent. Would highly recommend for a short getaway.

I have been wanting to stay here for ages after seeing it on facebook and it did not disappoint. We stayed in and would recommend the Bathhouse Eco Cabin with its private steam room, spa room and also outside bath plus easy access to resort swimming pool. The room was extremely comfortable clean and had everything you needed for a great weekend including complimentary wine and chocolate. We had the gourmet platter for dinner the first night after having lunch elsewhere and it was delicious, we chose to take it our room and ate at a small table overlooking the natural rock pool and escarpment after first enjoying complimentary drinks in the shared lounge room near the restaurant. We took advantage of the facilities and just relaxed and enjoyed the views and swimming facilities over the next two days with complimentary peanuts and biscuits. We enjoyed the breakfast both days and also the dinner in the restaurant on the second night which you could not fault.. it was amazing and very well organised complying with covid restrictions but without loosing the personal touches of great customer service. The staff on every occasion were fantastic and always happy to help. The views were amazing. Definitely lots more we could have done so we will have to go back again and again. Thankyou so much to everyone for a luxurious experience.

I went to view TWR on a whim after seeing an ad for them on Facebook. I viewed the property and fell in love with it for our wedding venue. The communication was excellent and pricing quite competitive when we booked.
When COVID came and shut down all hotels, we weren’t sure if we were going to be able to get married in 2020. However, TWR was able to open back up and this is where our stress started.
The owners tried to push us to a “COVID package” for our wedding instead of the gold sit down we had booked and paid a deposit for, which was about $5 per head cheaper but offered less in terms of food, duration of reception and they wanted more money from us in terms of a booking fee.
The food in the COVID package was food we wouldn't even eat and the venue was inflexible with allowing us to choose food we and our guests would eat. What venue doesn't let their bride and groom have food they will actually eat on their wedding day?
After repeated conversations and pleading with the Manager, she managed to convince the owners of TWR to honour our original package. Up until this occurred I was intending on extending the reception duration and booking additional rooms at the hotel for family. This interaction left a bad taste in my mouth and I didn’t want to give them any more money than what the minimum was under our contract.
I suffer terribly from anxiety and this really added to it in the lead up to the wedding, which I wish they hadn’t done. It was a blemish on an otherwise beautiful day.
Aside from this, the food was delicious, service from their team wonderful and house sparkling wine to die for.

Response from Sonja Keller, Owner at Tumbling Waters Retreat
Responded Jan 14, 2021
I am glad to hear you had a beautiful day, the food was delicious and the service from the team was wonderful. It’s unfortunate about your anxiety, which understandably would of been exacerbated planning a wedding shortly after lockdown in 2019. On behalf of the team we hope you get better soon.. ❤️

Not even the leaves scattered on the ground look out of place. This venue is the definition of ambience. The most extraordinary combination of nature, architecture, fine dining and most importantly hospitality. Andrew, Sonja, Karen and the crew are absolutely on the pulse.
The setting amongst the trees, meticulous landscaping around the property, a waterfall effortlessly dropping off the edge into the valley below, relaxation simply surrounds you. Then the view captivates you, especially the sunrise if you’re fortunate to stay overnight as we did for a personal milestone.
Sandstone buildings snuggle together, the finish quality in the rooms is impeccable. Be it in the dining area, lounging on one of the decks or within the accommodation itself. Every corner of the location is in perfect harmony.
Oh my, nearly forgotten to eat and drink, the distractions are endless, then the cuisine takes you to another level, the passion in the kitchen transforms to your plate and glass !
All these features are irrelevant if not for the commitment of the staff, they are slick and amazing. If you want to melt into tranquility this is the place to do it.

Just spent two fabulous nights at Tumbling Waters Retreat at Stanwell Tops. The accommodation, food and staff - all exceptional. Definitely worthwhile spending the extra money and staying in the penthouse suite. The in-house platter for dinner is highly recommended and dinner in the Restaurant was beautiful. The continental breakfasts are much more than your ordinary continental breakfast. They are usually totally booked with weddings but a little easier to get in under the current circumstances. We prefer our little road trips to be during the week rather than the weekend so it was nice a quite - just how we like lit.
