Booked this motel on the reviews and rating. Wasn't aware hat it is actually an older motel that has been refurbished - to a point - with new prices. Check in was fast and easy. The lady behind the counter - Kirsten? - was excellent and efficient and was a great host. The room is a typical motel room - bed, ensuite, cupboard. Parking at the front door, along with the Bogans who believe that letting their diesel engine warm up whilst they have a smoke at 6.30am is considered appropriate. The bathroom is where the age shows. The tiles on the floor of mine had not been replaced and looked to be original. The rest of the fittings were fine. Bed was comfy with choices of pillows. A small TV, a bar fridge and a decent-sized desk to work on completed the package. Being a Monday the restaurant wasn't open so I took a seat in the dining area and enjoyed the excellent complimentary glass of red wine - this was a pleasant surprise. Kirsten(?) offered me dinner in the dining room, which was great as I didn't feel like driving, so I had a decent steak and chips. The rooms are quiet but mine had an air conditioner from the property next door running all night. Breakfast had the expected eggs, bacon and tomatoes, along with fresh fruit, cereals and cheeses. All in all it was a pleasant stay but I am not sure it meets my 4 star expectations, or experience.…
Love this retro motel, extremely comfy and great restaurant. Second visit in winter but imagine it would have lovely atmosphere round the pool in warmer months. The rooms are large and lots of nice little touches make this an enjoyable stay
The friendly and efficient welcome at reception was only the beginning - from complimentary welcome drinks, to the fresh flowers and fruit in room, the wide array of essentials available from reception and a general attitude of aiming to make your stay as comfortable as possible, we simply cannot recommend the Oriana highly enough. Staff were amazing and the garden is a delight at night. We missed out on the beautiful breakfast buffet but when we asked for coffee it was delivered straight to our room. Dining at the Peacock room and relaxing afterwards in the bar is also a must do.
We love this fabulous art deco property that looks great and has a wonderful vibe. When we arrived the heating was on and the room was toasty warm (it was cold and raining outside). The room is nicely furnished, the shower has great pressure and we loved the little touches such as real tea leaves and a teapot (and coffee and a french press), biscuits and complimentary drinks on arrival too. Troy at reception was lovely to deal with. Oh, yes and there's the added bonus of a great bar and restaurant. What's not to love.
The staff were very welcoming, they had all preferences for milk in our rooms covered,. The rom was lovely, warm, well lit with a wonderful lounge area with fabulous lighting. the mandarins were a delightful addition. Great breakfast and welcome drink. The restaurant was also wonderful. Delightful meal with great ambience. We'll be back.
