Beautiful elevated property in the heart of the grape growing district of Pokolbin with fabulous views of the surrounding vineyards and the Brokenback mountain range.Quietly tucked away yet so close to all the very best that the wine region has to offer including only minutes to 4 world class golf courses.Recently refurbished and upgraded hotel style rooms are very comfortable with everything you need to make your stay easy and enjoyable with large glass french doors opening out onto your private veranda and perfectly framing the stunning vista. The separate loft/villa cottage provides a luxurious space with full amenities. The views from here are also fantastic with doors that open out onto the garden and courtyard area. Our small table grape vineyard and our neighbours extra large Chardonnay & Shiraz vineyard and farm animals complete the picture. The salt water swimming pool along side the BBQ area and the guest pavilion provides a refreshing end to a day out amongst the many cellar doors, restaurants, cafes, gardens etc during the summer months. The pavilion is the perfect place to relax and watch the sun go down.

Detailed Reviews
Could not speak highly enough of Elfin Hill and it’s 5 star customer service and facilities. First impression was, how is this place not a 5 star resort?
Room was so clean with modern decor and the most comfortable mattresses and pillows. Hubby and I and our two little ones had such a restful nights sleep.
Tony and Madeleine made you feel like you’ve known them all your life. We were made to feel at home and nothing was ever too much, not even our two loud kids. Madeleine even went out of her way to pick up our dinner from a local restaurant as hubby and I had a few to drink and couldn’t drive. That is good old country friendliness but also just Madeleine’s big heart and beautiful personality.
Elfin Hill also serves THE best hot country breakfast at a small cost but their complimentary (due to booking directly at the hotel) continental breakfast was also divine! All the jams and marmalade are homemade and delicious. Oh and those crossaints, oh my!
Do yourself a favour and don’t look anywhere else. This is the place to be. You will not regret it. We can’t wait to go back. Our daughter Georgia already misses Lola (their gorgeous dog).

Chantheare & Andy It was our pleasure and delighted we had the opportunity to meet you both & your gorgeous girls, maybe on the next visit (Covid behind us) I can give them both a big cuddle. Elfin Hill is all about relaxing & making yourself at home, soaking up the ambiance, tranquil setting or sitting on the deck watching the sun set over the mountains. Lola will be so excited to see Georgia's beautiful little face again. Take Care & Kind Regards Madeleine & Tony

We booked for 2 nights stay in a Studio cottage for three persons. Cottage is beautifully set with a balcony that opens into the greeneries. There is a loft with a large double bed and a single bed on the lower floor. Room is clean, comfortable and has a well equipped kitchen.
It is set in a good location for drivers, as it is a short drive to both Cessnock and Pokolbin towns and to various cellar doors.
We encountered an unexpected storm and blackout on our second night. The host was quick to reassure the guests and to ensure our safety and well being, walking in the strong wind and rain with blankets to keep us warm and parceling out battery operated candles, and checking in on us periodically. Luckily, the storm blew over quickly and lights were restored soon after.
Definitely a memorable stay, for the beautiful cottage, views and great hospitality.

We absolutely loved our stay at Elfin Hill. Madeleine was great and was so flexible with us as we had to reschedule due to numerous events. She really cared for us over the stay and made the experience delightful. It was so nice to wake up to a fresh and healthy breakfast and we really enjoyed the views.

Our group of 7 couples booked Elfin Hill for our yearly get together. This wonderful, friendly accommodation provided everything we needed plus more. Every couple had their own private studio with ensuite bathroom. Lots of natural light and spectacular views. Just a very short distance from our rooms a huge guest lounge area and chefs kitchen was a bonus for us all to get together, prepare aperitif and evening meals. Breakfast provided each morning was a large selection of all things delicious including fresh fruit, burcher, croissants, homemade jams. The lounge is a very relaxed area that also has outdoor seating on a big verandah capturing the same views. Swimming pool was just what we needed. Totally recommend this boutique accommodation in a really good quiet location.Staff attentive and helpful with local information.

Edwina and Damien are the most wonderful hosts of Elfin Hill, which is the perfect location for exploring the Hunter Valley at any time of the year. The views across the valley are simply stunning and the large, well-appointed guest rooms spotlessly clean. Edwina's personal touches make Elfin Hill feel like a home from home and if you choose to order a amazing cheese platter - with a bottle of the local wine, of course, or one of of Damien's fabulous pizzas, you won't be disappointed. Highly recommended - we'll definitely be back. Thank you!

Rooms named after your favourite wine overlook stunning views of mountains and valleys.
Your host takes great pleasure in showing the facilities and is a wealth of knowledge about the local area.

How can I praise this amazing place!
We’ve stayed here a few times, the service and warm welcome we get each time is just beyond the word I can describe!
Tranquil property, cozy & clean room, beautiful owner and the cutest kitties you can meet, everything is what we look for when we visit Hunter Valley.
The owners are so lovely and friendly, we enjoy their warm kind service, (especially they were so lovely to our kids) we appreciate that they go above and beyond to make sure our stay is always perfect. Thank you!
Such an amazing place! We’ve found the hidden gem! Now we don’t want to stay anywhere else but Elfin Hill!
We can not wait to go back again!

I loved the accommodation, we stayed in the cottage and it beautiful country feel. Very clean and tidy. The Ed’s were comfortable and had plenty of pillows to choose from.
Must comment on the very tasteful breakfast and was prepared and served up on time that we chose. It served up beautiful.
Beautiful manicured grounds with plenty of scenic views out of your window and plenty of outside space to stroll around. Just beautiful
The manager was fantastic and went above and beyond to make our stay a great success. Anything you needed Madeline would make sure it happened as was the staff who also made our stay wonderful.
Thank you very much. We will definitely be staying again.

Stayed here this weekend as a getaway for my partners birthday, the staff was very helpful and kind, assisting me organising a couple of surprises for our room. Studio room is big and spacious, lovely view of field/trees from veranda. Bathroom/shower is slightly old school and small, but clean none the less and well looked after. Breakfasts are good sizes and tasty. Accomodation is on lovely peaceful grounds, and you are well looked after. We will happily stay here again next time we visit, thank you Elfin Hill :)

The Owners encouraged us to use the kitchen facilities in the amenities building but we did not do much cooking, more heating up and serving . This facility is used for breakfasts and is extensive with oven, hotplates, fridge, freezer and dish washer. After a day around the wineries we were inclined to a simple meal with a good bottle of wine looking out over the landscape taking advantage of this property. Large dining table, lounge, heater and TV also provided.
