Detailed Reviews
Stayed here for a concert weekend at Hope estate as a couple.
Room was spacious and clean and the breakfast supplies and muffins each morning were appreciated.
Would recommend for a stay as it is was reasonably priced on a weekend when prices usually sky rocket at other places. Nice to have someone not succumb to the greed that other places seem to display when these concerts are on. The bus to the concert picked us up from out front for $40 per couple return and took about 10 minutes so it was well situated.

From the greeting you receive from Zena who escorts you to reception to the amazing hosts Chris and ken this place is just such a wonderful place to stay and visit the Hunter Valley. We were even given freshly baked slice on arrival for our afternoon tea. We stayed in room 3 which had a king size bed, walk-in wardrobe, large bathroom and fully equipped kitchenette. The room left nothing to wish for and was fully stocked for the breakfast the next morning but as an extra bonus Chris drops off freshly made muffins in the morning. We had table & chairs outside our room which we we able to relax at enjoying our wine bought on the walk watching the beautiful sunset.
We were in walking distance of several wineries, breweries and restaurants. You are also on the bike trail if you feel like venturing further. If you are wondering where to stay in the Hunter Valley look no further than The Grange. The cabins look excellent as well if you wanted to really spoil yourself.
Thank you so very much Chris, Ken and Zena for a wonderful couple of days in the Hunter Valley.

For a number of years we have spent the June long weekend in the Hunter Valley and on each occasion we have tried to experience different accommodation options and locations, however when planning from year to year "The Grange on Hermitage" continues to rise to the top. The property location is so peaceful with clean well appointed self contained cottage accommodation perfect for two couples or families with plenty open space with a gas BBQ and outdoor area for that afternoon cheese and wine. There is plenty of breakfast provisions supplied and outstanding freshly baked goodies on the front veranda every morning. Wonderful hosts Ken and Chris are forever locals and can offer plenty of advice on places of interest, eateries and of course wineries. We have booked again for next year and highly recommend a stay @ 'The Grange'.

Wow Thank you so much Chris and Ken for the most perfect stay in one of your two, two bedroom cottages it was unbelievable.
Beautiful fresh muffins each morning to compliment breakfast, made by Chris herself and even Kangaroo's eating the grass each evening through the living room window.
The accommodation was outstanding along with the location, which was minutes from at least 10 cellar doors if not more.
I cannot recommend highly enough, if going to Hunter Valley definitely stay here

Chris was very warm and welcoming upon our arrival. The fridge was filled with all our breakfast needs including freshly baked muffins which were left outside for us in the morning. An absolutely beautiful property to have a walk around. Perfect location. The room was very spacious with a lovely outdoor setting. Most definitely recommend staying here

I cannot recommend this place highly enough. Chris and Ken are beyond accommodating, the room is a fantastic value and very spacious, and the location cannot be beat. Covid safety is taken very seriously, at no detriment to the quality of service. The included breakfast is wonderful (variety of breads, fresh fruit, tea, coffee, butter, jams, milk, orange juice), and the fresh-baked muffins are the highlight of every morning! My partner and I can't wait to spend another weekend at The Grange the next time we make it down to the Hunter Valley. Many thanks to Ken and Chris for the excellent recommendations, as well as for answering my many many questions! -Meghan & James

My partner and I headed up to The Grange on a friend's recommendation. I cannot possibly describe how lovely Chris and Ken were. The little details added up to such a wonderful experience. From baking Gluten Free muffins fresh daily for breakfast to ensuring any possible need was filled. They provided a wealth of local information on the best places to eat, drink and enjoy the Hunter Valley.
The rooms were impeccable and filled with natural light and fresh air. The spa bath was wonderful and provided a welcome relief after our long drive.
I cannot think of a better place to stay in Pokolbin.

What a find! This was recommended to us by our friends at Mistletoe Winery as we were looking for some lovely family accommodation. What a perfect destination for a family of 6 adults and one small baby. The four grown up children stayed at a gorgeous cottage with share bathroom and kitchen, very spacious and beautifully appointed.
My husband and I stayed in separate accommodation, which was perfect for us.
A full breakfast was included and Chris delivered freshly baked muffins each morning, even catering for my gluten free daughter. The best muffins I have tasted!
We shall definitely be returning in the near future.
We love to stay where we have easy access to our car, but not in love with motel type accommodation. So this was perfect,

Chris and Ken are lovely hosts. Absolutely loved staying for a mid week get away from Sydney, convenient to all the local wineries and food spots. Fruit, juice, milk, tea, coffee, cereal, and selection of breads were available on arrival with fresh baked muffins arriving around on the patio outside the room at about 8am each morning. The room was spacious and comfortable to two with spaces for eating reading and a very comfortably large bathroom and spa bath. The whole premises is clean and well cared for.
Would absolutely recommend staying with Chris and Ken!

2020 has been such a stressful year, we just wanted a short break from the daily grind and were so happy we chose the Grange on Hermitage as our brief home away from home. We stayed in one of the Cottages which offered so much more than we expected, a spacious, clean, tidy generous space with a relaxing spa. The kitchen was well stocked with all your breakfast essentials to last your entire stay. The highlight of my mornings were the freshly baked muffins that were left on the front deck, simply divine! We enjoyed spending our mornings on the front porch, soaking in the sun, savouring the breakfast goodies whilst enjoying the company of the owners beautiful black Labrador, Zena! This gorgeous four-legged fur ball added a whole different dimension to our stay, her warm welcome and friendly, endearing nature made it difficult for us to say goodbye. The Hunter Valley has plenty of accommodation options, however the Grange on Hermitage far exceeded our expectations and nothing short of 5-star luxury. The hospitality and personalised touch from the owners were a breath of fresh air and hard to come by these days from hotel stays. We will certainly be telling our family and friends about this gorgeous piece of paradise and will definitely be back in the future! Thank you, Chris, Ken (and Zena), for your hospitality and extra batch of delicious muffins for our trip back to Sydney!
