We just spent the weekend at Possums Retreat at Pokolbin and hosted our family and a couple of close friends for my wife's 60th birthday. What a fantastic break it was, having the Lovett Shack on the other side of the property allowed our four friends to have a peaceful sleep in while in the Rose Cottage we had the...

We came with our next door neighbours for a concert at Hope Estate. It was almost close enough to walk if we had have been able to go in the back way but we weren't allowed to so still took us 20 minutes to get back! Not Possum's Retreat fault though. We stayed in Lovett Shack, the smaller of the...

A little piece of heaven tucked away in the Hunter Valley. Facilities are everything you want in accommodation, location to facilities is excellent and price is very affordable. Staff cannot do enough for you. Thanks for another great stay.

A group of 13 of us stayed at Possum's Retreat in mid-January 2014, in the middle of a heat wave, and we couldn't have been happier with the accommodation! The property lies just off the main road, and has two separate houses on it. One is closer to the road with two bedrooms, a simple kitchen and a nice bathroom,...

It's closer to the road than expected but it didn't seem to bother us. They provided high chair and porta cot. Kitchen well...

What a wondeful weekend we had at Possum's Retreat. Owners Gary and Vanessa could not do enough for us. Location was perfect to our needs. The cottage was so well equipped and comfortable. The cost was so affordable. Well done.

This is a great place to stay if you want to spend a couple of days around the wineries of the Hunter. The house we stayed in has four double bedrooms so its a good option to go as a groups and split the cost. Plenty of really good wineries close by and a very nice restaurant next door. House...

We stayed at the Lovett Shack with one other couple for a long weekend. The place was quaint, with a lovely cottage-like feel. The kitchen was well equipped, the bedrooms were a good size and clean. There was a good range of DVDs available to watch. We were after some milk at around 6pm and we called Garry (the owner)...

My family and I stayed at Possum's Retreat in Pokolbin mid-week during December in the Willows Homestead. Finding the place wasn't a problem, however if coming in at night, this might be more difficult. To actually get in the house, you needed a 4 digit pin code which wasn't simple but I managed to figure it out. Perhaps more detailed...
