Detailed Reviews
We kindly got upgraded on our honeymoon to Spicer's Tower Lodge. The staff were very friendly and welcoming, almost like welcoming us to their home. On arrival we were greeted with welcome drinks and given a tour around the property, from the open bar to the kitchen garden. The staff were all eager to give their local recommendations and help us organise cellar door tastings and transport. The hotel is newly and beautifully renovated with a Spanish Basque theme and felt quite cosy despite the high ceilings and tiles.
We stayed in the tower suite, which is unique by the hottub on the roof of the room! The suite itself was very spacious with a living room with a fireplace, huge bathroom, walk in wardrobe and very spacious bedroom. The bathroom had a great rainfall shower and the largest free standing bathtub I've ever been in! The bedroom had a comfy four poster bed and a mini bar that came with delicious complementary in house made cookies!! Our favourite part was definitely the private hotub/spa on the roof, it was the perfect temperature and had a beautiful peaceful view.
Our stay included daily a la carte breakfast (which we enjoyed outside our room), our favourites were the fried eggs and avocado on toast with iberico. Also included was a degustation dinner at their restaurant, Sebastian. Both nights were a delicious culinary adventure.
Another highlight of our stay was the daily masterclasses. We found it very interesting (and delicious) as the chef described the different foods, and even took us on a tour of the ground showing all the edible plants.
Overall Spicer's tower lodge is a fantastic place for a peaceful, relaxing and delicious getaway with a touch of cosy luxury.

Fantastic long weekend at Spicers Tower Lodge. A small luxury property with no more than 15 unique lodge style rooms on a large estate in the Hunter Valley. It has a Spanish theme throughout and executes it perfectly. The rooms, architecture, food and wine are are delivering an a Spanish style. There's a high level of personal service throughout, with team members anticipating your every need and genuinely showing a interest in your experience. Just one example was how Maria, the Restaurant Manager, designed a Spanish sherry pairing for each of our 5 dinner courses, to then be be delivered on her day off! We have no hesitation in recommending Spicers Tower Lodge to any couple wanting to experience a high-end unique weekend away.

We were very fortunate to get upgraded to Spicers Tower Lodge on my 50th birthday weekend away with my wife. The property is beautiful, the rooms are stunning and the staff very friendly and professional - they never feel too far away yet they blend into the background and you almost feel like you are on your own. From the welcome bubbles on arrival, to the fantastic service at breakfast and dinner, they really made our stay. The pool area and sauna are the perfect place to spend a few hours relaxing after sampling some of the Hunter cellar doors and before dinner at Sebastian. Would not hesitate to return here (would be perfect in winter with some big reds in front of the log fires) and would thoroughly recommend a couple of nights here.

The last time we went this was a very interesting Spanish resturant. Now it is very ordinary. It is $130 for a three course meal and it is only a three course meal ,no amuse bouche or interesting additions. perfectly Ok just not interesting or special.Such a shame iy is a great space and it is so good to go to a restaurant with a quiet elegant ambience

We decided to try out the Tower Lodge Restaurant for dinner last night. What an experience. The young man who was our Maître De for the night (sorry I forgot his name) was amazing, knowledgeable, friendly and excellent at his job. What a great impression to start, then the food came out, what an amazing experience. Beautifully cooked, tasted amazing and just the right size portions. It is the best dining experience we have had since moving to the Hunter Valley eight years ago. We will certainly be back and bringing friends and family.

A beautiful & serene environment enveloped us. The architecture is solid, desirable, luxe and spacious. We commenced with a delightful lunch in the restaurant followed by a restorative nap. Out for dinner elsewhere in the evening, we returned to a warm bath and a restful sleep. Breakfast served by the courtyard fountain was excellent. All staff were discreet, friendly and knowledgeable. Would definitely stay here again.

Going in winter had the advantage of having the open fire blazing away in our room - which somehow they kept stocked and alight ( even though we never saw anyone 🔥 ) . Food and wine was way above standard & all of the staff just lovely .
We even had a go at the archery and bike riding .
My husband and I can totally recommend this for anyone looking for something that extra bit special . We only had 3 days but were very tempted to stay longer .
