Comfy, warm, period feel rooms with kitchenettes, Close to town up top of hill, amazing breakfast with hand made jams, muffins, pancakes and yummy honey produced by Steve, the host. Very enjoyable stay. Free wifi worked well.

We were travelling with family (2A2C) stayed at Windmill Friday evening. Excellent double room suit with a balcony kitchenette. Rooms were spacious and quiet. Breakfast was excellent...variety of cold fruits and cereals, toast and homemade jams. Steve the host was excellent giving good advice on where to go, where to eat. A bit of a climb up the hill but...

The house was built in 18xx, so do not expect a modern renovation. With good direction of our three bed room and a radiator, we felt warm in the room. However, it's a bit inconvenient and hard to keep the surrounding area clean and dry when the sink was built outside of the restroom. The buffet breakfast was very good...

We're Queenslanders staying for a few days and this BnB is easy to find, comfortable and the breakfast is wonderful. All the bread, jams, muffins are home made and there are 4 or 5 different sorts of fruit the hosts have preserved. The only (small) downside is they're on the top of a hill so walking into Launceston is easy,...

Windmill Hill Lodge came highly recommended and lived up to the hype. The house is old but charming and Steve has the charm and manner (maybe also the gift of the gab - Blarney?) needed to be a great host. It shows that what is important are the people! The breakfast offered will not be seen anywhere else - memorable....

Room we had was double and single for our daughter. Wooden floor in room was not overly clean. Beds old but comfortable. Lamps above bed had no light bulbs. Breakfast was good. Plenty of it and mostly home made - bread, stewed fruit, dried fruit, yogurt, muffins and jams were all excellent.

We originally booked into Windmill Hill for just the one night on the day we arrived in Tasmania, but we loved the experience so much, that we booked a couple more nights at the end of our trip before we left. We were travelling with our two teenage boys in tow, and had a lot of difficulty finding accommodation to...

We over-nighted in Launceston en route to the boat at Devonport. The management was very accommodating regarding our late arrival (10pm from the Highlands) - you don't always find this. The decor is tasteful, "classic" B&B style, (somewhat eclectic) and the rooms are comfortable. The breakfast is really good, with various homemade condiments on offer - certainly better than the...

We stayed here one night while in launceston, lovely bed and breakfast! Very nice house and so welcoming on arrival and throughout. The gent Steve is super friendly and knowledgeable of the area! Rooms clean and more than adequate. A little dated but I think it makes this place a unique experience. Breakfast was delicious, all homemade, creamed rice, fresh...
