My wife & I recently stayed at this motel while travelling in Tasmania. We enjoyed the character & facilities so much on our first stay we stayed over again on our way back a week later! The owner/operator is very welcoming & has furnished the rooms & other areas of the motel with antiques & collectables which gives the place...

The hotel and the room were quite ok - clean comfortable- but the room we had (room 26) was unfortunately under room 27 - we could hear every movement and step taken in the room above - squeaky floorboards and no apparent separation between the timber floors - we had someone who walked around all afternoon and from 6:30 am...

It isn't often that you want to explore a hotel's corridors and find all of its nooks and crannies but this place is amazing. Consisting an old bakery, extension, Victorian terraces and a coach house, this accomodation exudes history and wonder. In the heart of Launceston it is quiet and tranquil in your room, in the incredible seating nooks in...

Check in was friendly and straightforward and the lobby is a delightful collection of antique and second hand stuff. Amidst the quirky, labyrinthine halls of kitschy art and collectibles, you will find a fairly basic, old school Australian motel experience. The toiletries are nothing fancy, breakfast was not appealing and there was no wifi. This place has the potential to...

I have been using this hotel annually for the last 4 or 5 years, overnighting coming into Tasmania and when I head back to the mainland. It is a nice friendly family run establishment with comfortable, clean rooms and the price is reasonable. I will continue to use this hotel on my future trips.

I took my daughter for a quiet couple of nights away following the death of my mother-in-law. The place was overrun with ants and the bed excruciatingly hard and pillows lumpy. However, the disgusting attitude of the owner was unbelievable. I have never encountered a more argumentative, nasty man in my life.... and I've met a few before. He wrote...

Our room was situated on the busy York St, however with the glassed in verandah the road noise was non existent. This did restrict opening windows. The room was spaciously comfortable including a large cosy 4 poster bed. The service was fine. Close to the centre of town and walking distance to several spots of interest and eating venues. NO...

I chose this accomodation based on previous reviews and I agree totally with the previous comments. The rooms are spacious, well presented and kept very clean. Parking is easy to access, but depending on the number of cars you may need to seek out the second car park. I would have given the hotel 5 stars except that there are...

This hotel is in a convenient location within a short drive (or walking if you up for it) to Cataract Gorge, shopping and dining options. The front desk of the hotel has quirky antique clocks, paintings and various items, room was consistent with the vintage style, they even provided traditional English tea cups instead of mugs! The room was clean...

This is a return visit for me to this location. I was impressed with the room I stayed in last time. This time we had room 21. This was a well furnished room which was clean and comfortable. Having (limited) onsite parking helped as we were able to do all our city venturing on foot. We did have a few...
