When we stayed this was called the Colonial on Elizabeth. Beautiful hotel, quality fittings, great food, beautiful gardens. It gave us a sense of if living in colonial times with modern conveniences. Lovely, friendly, helpful staff made our stay that bit more special. Walking distance to everything. Great place to stay. Highly recommended.

The gardens in this place are just absolutely beautiful. So much colour and life in the one place it was just amazing. I would really love to get married in the beautiful gardens of the Colonial. The food was also amazing, i had the porterhouse steak and it just melted in my mouth. Would defiantly recommend anyone to go there!

Busy hotel. Building is heritage listed. Rooms mainly upstairs. No lifts and stairs the only access. If u need ground floor it is vital to book early. Rooms are comfortable with airconditioning. Large TV. Desk area with a decent chair.

Recently stayed here whilst my husband had surgery. It was clean and comfortable. Staff willing to please. Conveniently located just parked the car and easy walking distance to hospital and main cbd. Lots of eating places nearby. Only downside was the cost for long stays.

I have stayed here twice in the past month. The rooms are clean and comfortable. Staff are friendly. Very handy location - the central businees/shopping area is a short walk away, as are a number of very good restaurants and cafes. There is also a supermarket about a block away. Very pleasant place to stay. Good value.

I love this venue. Beds and pillows are great and the staff are awesome. I haven't stayed here for awhile as I have been travelling to other parts of the country for 5 months. I was excited to be staying here again and it is such a lovely place. Just feels like home.

We stayed in the older section of the hotel. Although the room was a good size and close to the town centre, there were more negative things than positive unfortunately. The shower dripped all night, there was a big issue with mould around the tiles of the shower, the paint in the bathroom was patchy, the fly screen was coming...

What a find! We recently spent a week travelling in Tasmania & staying here was a great experience. Super friendly staff (Rebecca in reception deserves a special mention), the comfiest bed we slept in all week, fantastic breakfast & really good shower. Lincoln (general dogsbody) was especially friendly & helpful as well. We'll definitely be back.

I travel frequently on my own for business and it is always difficult to find a hotel with a great bed and spacious room to work in...The room Hampton rooms are amazing tagged with so much history, as this was originally built as a school...The restaurant is set on the grounds that reminds me of an old English pub, it...

5 night stay here. Staff very helpful and there are all the amenties one needs, including restaurant, self service laundry. Older style establishment large well equiped rooms. Plumbing is noisy and walls are thin so noise tends to carry especially those who are inconsiderate to others screaming on their mobiles. Centrally located short walk to city centre. Pleasant enough.
