My daughter and I had just finished the 6 day walking trek of Overland track, so it was very nice to sleep in comfortable beds. Hotel staff were very helpful with our queries. Situated close to everything in town - walking distance to lovely parks, the river, shops and restaurants (incl harbour eateries). Breakfast was very good. I feel the...

Very clean. Décor is dated - but don't let that get in the way. Service is generally excellent. The rooms are spectacularly clean and a very generous size. Conference facilities are more than acceptable, if not a little dated, but the speed and quality of staff and staff help more than make up for any inadequacies.

Hotel Grand Chancellor was the perfect location and at an affordable price. Close walking distance to great restaurants and cafes and also the beautiful City Park. Our check in and check out process was very quick and easy. The staff were very helpful during our stay with their personal recommendations of things to do and see during our time in...

Upon entering the foyer of this hotel my international friend was very impressed until we looked at our rooms - poor housekeeping had left them not to the expected standard of a top hotel; poor checking of electrical equipment and poor quality control between reception documents and information in the room compendium - reception staff did not even know what...

Service was competent and room comfortable enough, but room decor, fixtures and fittings are very tired. For the price I'll look for something a bit fresher next time. The bathroom especially seems like it hasn't been updated for thirty or forty years.

Location of conference so accommodation convenient. Hotel appeared tired and in need of an upgrade / renovation. Conference lunch choice was good. Interesting comment from a staff member at breakfast when changing over serving utensils (and having to wait for replacement) they were changing these over as they had a VIP guest coming and needed to make sure all looked...

Chose the HGC for work proximity but also well located for cafes and restaurants. Happy with room cleanliness and services however disappointed about lack of free wifi and no free water bottle (standard for other hotels)

I called in for coffee at the Grand C and found it a curious mix. It's one of the grande olde worlde standouts in Launceston and has a certain cachet. From the outside it's all colonnades and grandness, but on the inside? Good news first, the coffee was outstanding. Smooth, warm and we got chocolate too. And the staff were...

Stayed here 3 times before. It's an adequate if unexciting 3 star in a nice-enough country town. Decided to pre-book the exec lounge to enable me to get some early AM work time. Someone was supposed to give me the access code for this: they didn't. Someone was supposed to come and let me in to the lounge because we...
