What a lovely alternative to the run of the mill chain hotel. This place has a fantastic ambience, is well run by James, and I couldn't really fault anything about it. The view from the front balconies is beautiful - can just about see all of Launceston.

Great location to city and Cataract gorge. We stayed on the bottom floor and were really happy with the room. Very large and spacious with great bathroom. Stocked mini bar if you want anything. Only complaint is that the room was a bit stuffy as there are no windows to open and get fresh air inside. Also don't try to...

James runs this hotel and is a font of helpful information about attractions and restaurants. The rooms are perfectly clean, the garden is well kept. There's free internet and parking. It's a convenient, easy walk to town and Cataract Gorge. Our room was a bit small, others appeared bigger. The bathroom was modern, clean, well lit. The room had a...

Totally excellent place to stay in Launceston. Close to the centre of town, magnificent views from the upper level communal balconies, fascinating artworks on all the walls, exceptional attention to small details that made our stay pleasant. Highly recommended. Added bonus: staying in an old convent. You can hear the old nuns whispering in the night.

Auldington is a boutique hotel with lots of character. We had a very comfortable King bed and the hotel is well located only a 10 minute walk to Launceston CBD and a 20 minute walk to Cataract Gorge. The receptionist pointed us to a fabulous café just down the road where we enjoyed really great coffee and a delicious breakfast.

We chose to change our itinerary so we could stay at this hotel at the end of our holiday after starting our holiday here. The hotel has old world charm combined with modern rooms. It is located on a hill overlooking Launceston and just far enough from the centre to avoid the traffic and the town bells that sound on...

We got the room for disabled persons... roughly if u r disabled u re not entitled to proper hotel room... choice is between day light or privacy - windows direct view on reception entry - plus I am puzzled about the compliance of the room and bathroom. There was no wire along the wall for alarm. The blinds handle are...

It's not the flashiest hotel in town but it is a comfy stay! The beds are great, the service is good, it's a 5 minute walk to a very nice cafe! And a 8 minute walk to a bottle shop! What more could you possibly want?

We spent a night in the Auldington whilst staying in Launceston. What a quirky old building. Our room was comfortable with everything we needed. Free car parking was also useful. I had one concern over cleanliness but this issue was quickly and efficiently managed by a very pleasant young man working on reception.

After 7 days cycling along the east coast of Tassy we were well greeted by the hotels Gen Manager James. Our room was clean, quiet and well appointed. James provided very good info on what to do and where to dine. He has arranged 10% food discounts at many of the local restaurants which we partook of. We slept well...
