Having just arrived in Thames for the start of the Hauraki Rail Trail we needed a fairly simple dinner on a Sunday night. With other restaurants closed in Thames the Junction Hotel filled the bill at the northern end of town on the Main Street near the cinema. I had the house special of vegetarian frittata and my husband had...

The food is definitely not cheap but the quality is good. There is not really a separate dining room so you are eating in the bar area which can be a little noisy.Staff are very obliging and speed of service is reasonable. The biggest area of concern in my opinion would be wine prices which start at $39 per bottle which to...

The hotel was perfect for us. Clean, spacious with a good atmosphere in the restaurant downstairs. We had a great time in Thames and around. The booking manager is really nice, she helped us with our wet clothes, we really appreciated it. Thanks again !

We decided to have dinner here, and had no problems with it. The meals were what we expected from a pub meal. Nothing was exceptional, but rather your more basic fare. The person who served us was very friendly and helpful. The setting was pleasant as a lot of the older pubs are, although the flies were a nuisance. We...

We arrived and had to wait for the manager to turn up. She wasn't very friendly and had several young children roaming around the place. One very small child was about to fall down the stairs!! The room was supposed to be charged back to our agent but she didn't seem to understand this. The rooms were dated, small and...

We had a function to attend in the Games room bar down stairs, so the band playing until midnight did not worry us and we were well informed by staff that this would be the case. . The accommodation was cheap and functional. no TV in our room but then we were just there to sleep. we had an ensuite,...

10 of us biked 33 kms from Paeroa to Thames and stayed the night at The Junction Hotel. The staff housed our bikes for us. We enjoyed our stay. Eat at Grahamstown Bar which is part of the hotel. Food delicious and staff helpful and friendly.

I stayed here for a night in a dorm room while I was on my way to Tauranga. The entrance is a bit confusing because all of the accomodation is upstairs and downstairs there is a bar and a restaurant. As I walked upstairs, I was overpowered by a very strong smell of smoke. It is a very old building,...
