Despite initial fears of the 3 km gravel track drive to the gate our fears were soon appeased by the warmth of the greeting by our host Scott . The drive further up the mountain was halted only by Scott taking the trouble to point out wildlife or plant history . You turn the final bend and wow. This place...

Scott and Karyn are terrific hosts. Scott is a great outdoors type who can guide you around the extensive trails on the property along with a wealth of information on flora and fauna. Karyn is a terrific cook who can provide wonderful meals if you don't want to cook your own food. The exotic location alone would be enough to...

We (2 adult, 3 children) stayed for three nights in the Shackwell Bush Hut of the Nightingale Falls Farmstay Retreat and we enjoyed the days from the beginning to the end. Scott and Karyn are very friendly and accommodating people, the animals - especially the dogs - are lovely, the landscape is awesome and the Shackwell Bush Hut is amazing!...

Our family had a great night here on our road trip around the North Island. Karyn, Scott & family were lovely and their animals just made the stay extra special. Waking up to "Moo" standing outside our window was gorgeous! 😊. The cottage was clean and well equipped and our kids loved the trampoline too. Thank you for having us....

HI Guys!!! Thanks you so much for your review of Shackwell Bush Hut. We are thrilled that you had such an enjoyable time. It really is a unique location and with the glorified camping in Shackwell you really made the most of the nature and surroundings. It was wonderful to meet you guys! Warm wishes, Scott and Karyn
