I stayed at the Coastal Motor Lodge for one night with my husband and two children. As we were a family I booked the Sea View Family Unit. This was unit number 1 which was more like a pre-fab unit close to Reception rather than one of the chalet style units but it suited our needs. Everything was very well...

I use a booking website and probably didn't pay enough attention to the room I was booking. You see photographs of lovely chalet type luxury cabins and imagine that all rooms are like that, unfortunately for me , not the case. I was allocated one of the older bungalows which were reminiscent of a wartime prefab, once again my fault....

Our Chalet was intimate and cosy. Superb layout making the most of the space available, with generous deck. Great views of coast and water from our room( room 16) and from the deck out front, which also gave views of the spectacular backdrop of the bush right down to the back of the facility. We shared morning coffee on the...

Staff are very friendly and helpful. The gardens and surrounds are really lovely and the apartment was very clean. Its a beautiful drive - about an hour - to Coromandel Peninsula. Hotel is just a bit out of town so nice and quiet.

Thames NZ is a quirky town with lots of really good markets and happenings on the weekends. The Coastal Motor Lodge is just up the road and was a reasonably comfortable stay with nice views of the Firth of Thames. Perhaps the traffic on the Friday night was a little noisey, but not too bad.

Beautiful setting, just across the road from the shore in a nice garden. Our room was spotless and beautifully appointed. There was a small but efficient kitchen, a big sitting room and a comfy bed. The hosts were very cheery and helpful.

Stayed here overnight as part of our driving tour of the Coromandel Peninsula. The place is about 1.5 to 2km north of Thames and is close to the beach. Check in and out was very easy and the owners were lovely. We stayed in a lovely nicely appointed chalet with easy parking within 25 metres. The chalet was clean and...

We chose this as an easy drive from Auckland Airport as we did not want to stay in Auckland and wanted somewhere to base ourselves for a visit to the Coromandel area. The motel is well situated on the road out of Thames. It is simply furnished with everything you need for an overnight stay or longer. The kitchen has...

We had two nights at the Coastal motor lodge and recommend it for anyone looking for a nice and wellfunctioning base for excursions in the surroundings. We did the Windows walk at Karangahake Gorge. Very nice walk indeed. There were several options but we didn't have the time for the other ones. In the 19th century the area was center...

Very nice motel wit unique layout. Rooms are nice, with sufficient kitchen area. Bed was compfy. Room close to the street was a bit noicy, but didn't spoil our stay. WiFi was kind of slow and broke down several times. Wash mashine only worked with cold water, unless we missunderstood it. Staff was very friendly. Location of the motel is...
