We booked a room here for a family of five. Room was a decent size, could do with an update but it was clean and suited us fine for one night. Staff friendly enough as well. It was quiet which was nice. Would suit people who are not too fussy about the look of the place.

I recently conducted a seminar for 20+ people. Facilities were basic but worked fine. Projection screen and white board were included in the hire package for a reasonably-priced function room. For the buffet, we opted for two mains (roast pork and crackling with apple sauce + beef stroganoff), two sides (assorted rolls + roasted pumpkin, kumara), salads (waldorf + Indonesian... More

We had a good-sized room which easily accommodated 36-49 people seated around three sides of the room. chairs were comfortable all day. toilet facilities off a corner of the room were only just coping with the numbers of females, so it was agreed to use the male toilets as unisex. Food for the day was disappointing and did not live... More

I stayed here for work for a week . The rooms were ok and staff were friendly. However after returning from work at 5.30pm it's Winter and quite dark. The guest laundry is situated at the rear of the property. The most intense and scariest experience. Walking down a dark alley with minimal lighting or through the hotel grounds (still... More

Recently stayed in a family room. Was perfect for my families needs and had plenty of space for my young children. The beds were very comfortable and the room was immaculate. Had all the amenities well catered for and great having easy access to the outside area and the pool. We found the staff very friendly and most helpful and... More

We booked in as a part of a group staying at the hotel in April 2016. On first glances it was easy to see that the rooms were tired and dated. They could do with a good clean not just surface clean from the house keeping team. The heater in the room was not working it blew cold air all... More

The hotel is tired. Had an upstairs front facing room which caught all the road noise. Carpet was filthy. Had to turn the fridge off due to the noise it was making. Enquired about the gym - not much on offer and in a room way out the back. Staff were friendly and competent. I rated cleanliness below as average... More

Room 863 was straight above the reception area, large but dated. No menu in room no list for television channels or numbers of reception and room service. I opened the closet to look for iron and it was full of chairs, however reception quickly brought me an iron and board when requested. Vacuuming the reception down stairs at 6ish in... More

Attended an evening function in central city and was able to walk to and from this hotel. Room was good, staff friendly only minus is distance from carpark to room. Would stay here again when next in Wanganui. ,

Very good location in walking distance to restaurants and CBF. Furniture and carpet was a bit tired, but acceptable. I booked this hotel because we didn't want to pack food for breakfast and they offered a buffet in the morning. However when we arrived we were told that the restaurants was closed the next morning and we had to order... More
