My wife and I stayed over one night . Pilgrim Planet is a lovely place - the place was recently built and everything felt new. The room we stayed in was comfortable with an LCD TV on the wall. A column heater was provided and this did a good job of heating the room up - the windows were double...

I booked this accommodation on-line and upon arrival - as my travel companion & partner Jane tried to check us in (whilst I was on business call) we where informed we could not stay there because we could not share a King sized bed. First of all Jane was told that there had been a mistake and they had no...

Room was large with good facilities. we had the front room and the traffic was a little loud, but the double glazing helped and we slept just fine. The shared kitchen was lovely, with the 'retro' stove having everyone envious that they did not have it at home. We enjoyed the later part of our evening talking to some other...

We stayed just one night in Whangerie, but this lovely B&B was so comfortable and homey that we were tempted to stay longer. It was very clean, attractively decorated and very spacious. The huge lounge area with DVDs, games and big comfy couches was a great place to relax at the end of a busy day. The hosts Karen and...

Very glad to find this place in Whangarei! We were passing through and only stayed for a night. This was more like a home-stay than a hotel. Plus : Modern nice deco, friendly host, entertainment area had loads of movie dads, games etc, Minus : A bit on the quiet side of town. About 5 minutes drive to the nearest...

Excellent spot with quality facilities. What bliss to find top notch linen upon top notch beds, freely browsing the thoughtfully provided magazines, DVDS, and books, using the amazing kitchen, lounge, intenet and courtyard area whenever it suited knowing we would not disturb our hosts....Pilgrim Planet is highly recommended to all discerning travelers tired of bland, boring hotel rooms.

We spent our first two nights in New Zealand at the Pilgrim Planet. Seemed more like a home stay than a hotel. Mike was super helpful on picking places to visit in the area and for the rest of the country. Loved the antique stove and the hospitality.

I stayed at Pilgrim Planet for a few nights while traveling around New Zealand on vacation. Prior to here, we'd stayed at a few motor inns/motels and wanted something a little different. We gave Pilgrim Planet a try and were incredibly glad we did! You get your own private room with bathroom, but they open up to a shared space...

We were really disappointed with this accomodation, perhaps I should have researched the location first but we didn't expect this motel to be on such a busy road. We paid a premium for what was described as the best room in the place but we should have realised that there might be an issue when the owner said that the...

I am sorry the reviewer feels they did not receive value for money. If he had spoken to me I would have gladly given them a discount or come to some other arrangement.

“Despite being on a major road, traffic noise was not that notable, due the masonry construction and double glazing. We had a room at the rear which looked out on the patio/BBQ area with lots of green plants. We'd pick that room again if available.”
