we chose this location for my wife's birthday and a mini family reunion. From the moment we arrived and found that the Proprietors John and Anne had been waiting for quite some time to ensure we found it safely, we then discovered all about Johns (a retired Professor of Biology) efforts to restore and revitalise the entire area back to... Tahi Beach is a beautifully situated property about 30 minutes from Whangarei near Patua North. The two cottages are on a large property where you can walk in the forest, the valley with ponds, the hills for great views of the countryside or along a secluded beach. The owner lives on the property and he will take you on a... More

We ended the last leg of our trip at Hiwi house at Tahi and the 2 bedroom house was a great retreat for us. The house is very spacious, well designed and has an amazing view of the sea. The kitchen is modern and lovely to cook in. John, the owner of Tahi gave us a private tour of his... More

Since we are a big family, we occupied house Mara and house Hiwi. These two houses are both great in quality but we prefer Hiwi much more than Mara. The whole property is fantastic with beautiful beach, forest, fauna, flora, animals.... That means there's a lot to enjoy here. The owners are very friendly not only to the guests but... More

What could be better than staying in superb accommodations, wonderful views, lots of hiking trails, beautiful beaches and all on a piece of property that is being restored with native plants which are attracting native fauna. This is truly a one-of-a-kind place. Check our their web page and start planning - you can't go wrong.

We stayed at Tahi in the Hiwi house for our honeymoon. The accommodation was excellent and everything was top quality from the linen to the stereo and kitchen applicances. The location is amazing. You have a private surf beach and 700 acres of beautiful country side. The highlight of our stay was taking a walk through the kauri forest on... More

The house we stayed in was great and absolutely top quality! It has everything to make evenings with your friends and family pleasant: from board games and a fireplace to high speed internet.) But what made the stay really special was the family of owners who make you feel welcome from the very first moment you set your foot on... More
