First entering the driveway, I felt like I was going back in time to some colonial era because the first house encountered is a heritage site with charming wooden verandahs and old-styled brackets, etc. However, the interior of the house was not old at all but rather modern yet still quaint and cosy. Andy (the lodge owner) uses the kitchen...

Andy "the chef" is a regular contributor to TA forum and his suggestions to us regarding our itinerary for our 4 week stay in NZ was very helpful. He also directed us to his own Lupton Lodge and we are very pleased he did. We stayed there on our first night in NZ, and again on our way back to...

A lovely old home in a beautiful garden. Our room was comfortable and very well appointed. The owners were helpful and the breakfast excellent. Really nothing but positives ......if anything my only criticism would be it was a little far from town but that really isn't an issue and adds to its peacefulness in my view. Very good basically...would have...

Old charm hotel but recently renovated with taste, homely, clean, friendly owner and good food. Location is convenient for car drivers, close to the falls and on the road to the coast (Matapuri, Sandy beach, Tutukaka), they have a car park. Lovely garden as well. They have also a pool and leisure room with a pool table.

This wonderful lodge is a hidden gem. Close enough to town yet out in the country. The character of the individual rooms and the history of the property will astound you. The grounds with vineyard and fruit trees was relaxing and inviting. Andy is the consummate host. Thank you, Andy!

We stayed at the Lupton Lodge for 3 nights and it was awesome. We had the upper level of the converted barn which has oodles of space and a fabulous bathroom. Yes, there is a bit of road noise, but if you close the windows it is very quiet. An aircon and ceiling fan accommodates everyone's needs. We were made...

We stayed in the downstairs of the barn for three nights and found the place very comfortable, we even used the barbecue facilities and ate outside under the stars! Great place to stay with an excellent choice at breakfast all cooked by Andy, our host, who was always interested in what we were doing and to offer advice.

One of the best places we have ever stayed in. Our room had a large bedroom, dressing room and bathroom. Breakfast was exceptional. Our evening meal was lovely. The historic house has beautiful kauri wooden floors and lots of facilities.
