Myself and my girlfriend stayed here as we couldn't find many places to stay in the area. We haven't been into back packing places before but were told by a few guests here that this one is definitely special. I wish we had just come straight here! We stayed one night but wished we had time for a second. The...

... but unfortunately it seems to have only two male toilets for the whole place. I really liked staying there, but two toilets? For the size of the place? Really? Unfortunately it was smelly in our room, but I think that was due to some hiking boots. The place itself is very nice to be honest!

My wife and I stayed in a private double bedroom at this hostel, which to be honest, has the quality of a small hotel. The owners obviously take great pride in the presentation of the place. Rather than plain, soulless hostel rooms, each has been thoughtfully decorated with artefacts that give it real character, as have the common areas. There...

By far the cleanest backpackers i have ever stayed at. We were only there 1 night and didnt really spend much time there so we didnt use the kitchen or the other facilities besides the bathrooms, but the bathrooms and our bedrooms were extremely clean. We were so happy with our room and the overall experience

This place has a fantastic friendly & easygoing atmosphere - lively, respectful of everyone - wish I could have stayed longer. Very clean kitchen, bathrooms & bedrooms. Comfortable bed - not too soft! Lots of spaces to duck into to socialise or have a quiet moment.

I stayed here a little while ago but have been meaning to leave a review for this amazing hostel! I have stayed in many hostels and none of them have been anything like this one! While Greymouth isn't anything special, this hostel is probably a good reason to visit even if it's just a one or two night stay. The...

Decorations are definitely one of a kind, ambience fantastic, room clean and comfy, staff were nice and helpful, activities packed ( board game, music instruments, bike, kayak and many more). Just the perfect place for backpackers.

This place exceeded my expectations and some. I was rally impressed by what I saw on the website but it was even better. It had atmosphere in bucketloads, comfort, great facilities, well priced and superbly clean and tidy....not an easy combination. The hosts were very relaxed and interested people.

This place is fantastic! We struck gold staying here! I was so impressed with everything from start to finish. We were picked up from the train and the man provided us with information about Greymouth ie things to do, places to eat. I loved the decor and the relaxed atmosphere in Global Village backpackers. It was so homely and cosy...
