The place really gives the feeling of a global village with lots of artefacts from all over the world. It was homely. Loved the lounge area with a piano, fireplace, library, guitar etc. So many activities to do which included free kayaking, free bicycles etc. Get top floor as we were on bottom floor and you can hear sounds of... Truly a beautifull place, very clean rooms bathroom and kitchen, nice staff and facilities you'd sooner expect in a 5 star hotel. Had a great stay here :) oh and I strongly recommend using the hot tub and free bikes!

During a spur of the moment South Island road trip, our travels led us to Greymouth. Even in peak season it's great to know that 2 kiwi blokes can wing their entire holiday and find accommodation where ever they end up. Global Village is presented nicely, quirky and clean. Loads of space to relax around the grounds, and as usual... More

Such a lovely little place to stay the art work everywhere on the walls. Had a lovely little patio with table and chairs. Nice kitchen guests where polite. Bit disappointed no free wifi. Had to pay. But nice and cheap.

This hostel had such a great communal feel. There’s a wonderful main room with a cozy fireplace and couches. There’s also a huge kitchen with multiple sinks, pots, pans, stoves, etc. that is available to guests. The kitchen was just perfect and there were fridges available to guests as well. We stayed in a private room, but had a shared... More

My stay started with getting picked up from the train station, which was very helpful as the hostel is a bit out of town. The staff got me checked in very quickly and gave me a map of the area. There were bikes available for use (I never used one though). It seemed they put effort into separating people out... More

What a fantastic place- firstly walked in a bit late for check in, only for the keys at the reception to be labelled with my name on them all ready and waiting. They really thought about this! Entered the accommodation into an African decorated haven- it was exquisite! Like a hotel not a hostel- I wish I would have stayed... More

Stayed in a four share room. The reception was very friendly and gave us the usual walk through with the map. He even gave me a new wifi slip when I lost my original one. Showers and toilets were good, though we had to climb up a flight of stairs to access them. Common room was nice and warm and... More
