Great location . Room had views of the ocean and snow covered mountain peaks. Very friendly hosts. Tastefully decorated with many of the little luxury extras you would expect. Tasty continental breakfast with cappuccinos made by the host.

We stayed for two nights, love the place (beautiful decor), comfortable bed and well-insulated room (nice and warm in winter). Jen and Warren (the owner) are every nice and make you feel welcome. The service was great with a good quality breakfast.

We started our vacation on the South Island with two days in Kaikoura at the wonderful Kaikoura Boutiqr Hotel. It was the perfect choice. The location is superb. The owners and staff are supremely helpful and friendly. The room was very comfortable and tastefully decorated and had everything we needed. And breakfast was an unexpected treat with salmon and beautiful...

Stayed for one night in a rainy Kaikoura. Lovely warm welcome and a gorgeous room to stay in. The bed was comfortable and the shower wonderful. Really tastefully decorated, a lot of thought has been put into the rooms. Breakfast the next morning was lovely, Warren was kind enough to check if our whale watching tour was available - 'not...

Warren, aka "old salty" - is a wealth of knowledge about local sea and weather conditions. It's uncanny how consistently right he about the best maritime activity to do when. If staying with us, pick his brain over breakfast. He's annoyingly accurate :)

Had a great stay, rooms were very comfy and owners very friendly and helpful. They gave great recommendations of places to eat and to visit. Wish we had booked for longer as Kaikoura is such a beautiful little place

"Wish we stayed longer" - if I had a dollar for every time we hear this, I'd have.... $345! It's true, Kaikoura is so much more than a whistle-stop. Try to stay two nights minimum. There's so much to see and do - and we're always happy to help get you organised. If you're wanting to dolphin swim or whale...

Room was unbelievable with balcony and view over bay. Owners were extremely helpful and professional and made you feel very welcomed. We stayed for two nights and it was the perfect ending to our two week holiday. The rooms are very tastefully decorated and extremely comfortable. Another comment about my bar (yaaay!) Thank you. Kaikoura is quite often either the start or end of holidays - a fact not lost on us - glad we gave a suitably fabulous farewell from middle earth.

This hotel is in a class of its own in Kaikoura. Waterfront views - good location -- top notch service - large luxurious rooms. Like I said - it is by far the best hotel in the town. We'll definitely be back again

We arrived for a two night stay after a week long stay in the North Island. We arrived to the lovely room furnished in comfortable colors and smartly organized kitchen set-up. There was plenty to choose from in the mini-bar, ask the front desk for prices. We sat in the front bar area for a drink before heading to dinner....

Beautiful heritage building with stylish decor and furniture throughout. We stayed in room 9 and the view over the ocean was breathtaking, the room was extremely comfortable and had everything we needed (room 9). Breakfast was delicious, but the coffee was amazing!!! Glad you had a lovely stay - and that The Store hit the spot too :) Room 9 had a front row seat for the Kaikoura Hop just after you left - hundreds of classic cars cruising past the hotel, all rather festive too! Wasn't as peaceful as your experience, that's for sure... Yay for you and your review, thanks!!...

Lovely upstairs room overlooking the ocean. Bed is great, as were the pillows, excellent linen and heated bathroom floor. Breakfast is good, smoked salmon was delicious, and the coffee hit the spot. The sound of the ocean is all you need to get you relaxed at the end of a big day.

Appreciate your comment on our bedding - we think it's divine too and have the same standard through the entire hotel... Yes, even our smaller courtyard rooms have the same quality mattresses, linen and pillows. A fabulous sleep ensured.
