Large size, pleasant and helpful staff. Good access to all rooms. Clean neat and tidy. Great view.
For those that want to be within easy walk of the action, this is a bit out for that. But still an easy drive.
This was a motel with self contained apartments with cooking facilities but no washing machine. Very comfortable overlooking the bay with a veranda. Large lounge and charming hostess. Very near Pier Hotel where you can eat crayfish and about 2-3 miles from the seal colony....More
Our room was upstairs with a small balcony enjoying views over the ocean and the mountains. Accomodation was a little dated but clean and comfortable. The kitchen was well equipped and overall we had a very pleasant stay at the Panorama Motel.
I have stayed here for two nights. The motel is okay. Nothing fancy nothing actually mentionable, you have a bed to sleep in, a well maintained bathroom. The motel also has a very small laundry facility. The staff is helpful, but not particularly nice to...More
If you’ve a stop over in Kaikoura as we did to have a swim with the dolphins, there is not much else you can do. It’s a small town but a nice town. There are no fancy hotels so you’ve to go with the flow....More

The Whale watch office is at the Kaikoura Railway Stn approx. 2.8km to the north of the Panorama Motel. Think you have to check into the Whale Watch office before your tour starts and they run a transfer bus from there to the South Bay jetty where the boats leave from. South Bay is approx. 4.5km to the south (over the hill) from the Panorama Motel. Whale watch is fantastic but just as amazing is the swimming with the Dolphins!
