We stayed here over Christmas and it was okay. It didn't seem as clean as some of the other places we stayed throughout NZ. The kitchen is communal and it didn't seem like it was well taken care of. We weren't that comfortable using the communal kitchen or what we had in the room. Location was alright. We spent the...

If you are just looking for somewhere to stop off this motel will serve your needs. It was very clean and tidy and had everything I needed but it is dated and the price was high for what you got but then Kaikoura in summer seems to be a licence to print money. The motel is very close to the...

We used this accommodation as an overnight stay as we wanted to do the Whale Watch Encounter. Rooms are more 1970's ish, but tidy. Bathroom very small. Owner helpful by providing transfer back to Whale Watch Station as this is a 1700 meter walk (with luggage). Unfortunately there is no taxi in Kaikoura. Noise of trains going by can wake...

We arrived and were pleasantly surprised by the large room with generous kitchen/dining area and lounge with sofa. The place was clean and well furnished, close to a supermarket and not too far to walk into town. We spent a day walking around the town and then enjoyed the evening watching the many tv channels in the room.

Great little hotel clean and tidy, the bed was firm the beach is very close. There are picnic tables and a playground in the complex. A supermarket is within a 5 minute walk. Its a long walk to the centre of town but we enjoyed the peace and quiet.

A tiny but clean room. If you are larger than the average size you will not fit in to clean your teeth and certainly don't try to get two people in their as it won't happen. The door into the area only just opens and if someone is in the toilet they have to come out before you can go...

A well appointed Motel in the main State Highway into Kaikoura, very clean tidy rooms with good heating, bathroom and kitchen facilities. We had originally booked another but were unable to stay because of renovations so were sent here. Glad we were. Although close to rail line this is not a deterrent as most rail link is day time. It...

This motel was clean, comfortable and affordable. The staff were really friendly and helpful. The room also had a well equipped kitchen. It is slightly dated but not badly, it seems to have been well maintained. A number of other reviewers have mentioned the trains but it didn't bother me. I think I woke up to one once but it...

Coming as part of a package and being a place to break a journey We didn't know much about this motel at all. The Alpine View Motel provided all that was required with microwave, kettle, tea and coffee making facilities and basic cutlery and crockebry. Although rather dated the room and bathroom were clean and met our needs. Free wifi...

We stayed here for 2 nights in unit 1 and when I walked in my mouth dropped at the size of the room! 2 beds, a table and chairs and still plenty of room for luggage. Very neat and tidy room with a kitchenette which was fantastic. When we first started driving to the motel I thought we were going...
