We stayed her on Christmas Day, and the hosts were amazing. They were concerned about helping us find dinner, settle in, and make sure we were comfortable. The hotel isn't 5-star by any means, but it seemed like the best one we saw in Kaikoura, and in the morning, we found a great little shopping street with a number of...

Stayed for one night in two bedroom unit with family. The views from our unit were stunning, the weather was also perfect which helps as well. Unit was spotless clean, had everything we needed but did seem a bit noisy at night, but perhaps coming from the quite countryside the ears were a bit sensitive to the noise of the...

We couldn't praise more highly the hosts of these motels. We stayed one night at Anchor Inn recently with two of our elderly friends from Australia and had booked a two bedroom unit without studying the website closely. It turned out to be one of the two storeyed units which were most unsuitable for our elderly friends. It was not...

We stayed here over New years eve in a 1 bedroom deluxe apartment. The room was very large and well appointed with lounge area and a kitchette with hob, the bed was very large and extremely comfortable. When we arrived and throughout the staff were extremely friendly and helpfull. The motel offers free wifi, laundrette and car washing facilities. The...

A fantastic little motel with excellent views of the sea. We stayed in a 2br room with a sea view. The couple who ran it were very hospitable and knowledgeable. The lady owner provided us with 2 restaurant recommendations which were spot on. The bathroom was a little small, but there were some excellent little touches that made us feel...

Wish we could have stayed longer. What a lovely setting and friendly owners this place has. It was a perfect spot for us to spend Christmas day. The owners offered to find us a spot for Christmas dinner but instead we chose to wander into town and found a pizza spot that was open. It's a great motel a little...

We stayed in the anchor inn for 1 night while we were in Kaikoura. Its a really pretty and really comfortable spot. The room was clean and the kitchen well equipped. They had a good selection of DVDs at reception and the couple who owned and managed the place were great. Bathroom was on the small side compared to the...

We enjoyed our stay at the anchor inn hotel. The room was very clean and spacious. Great location, very quiet place. The owners are very nice couple, they even helped us cook the crayfishs we got. We really appreciate that. We would definitely recommend this motel if you ever stay at Kaikoura.

We have stayed here before 13 years ago when we had a sea facing room and really explored the area around Kaikoura. This time we just wanted a bed for our first night after arriving from the UK in the morning. We chose a side room because it was cheaper, and in some ways it was better. It was not...

Stunning views; turquoise water. Great view from room. Friendly staff. Large, well equipped room - including microwave, pots and pans, decent knives etc. Very clean and well maintained. Great location. Walk to pier restaurant; good food. Lovely walks on peninsula with excellent views. About 10 mins walk into town. Quiet locale. Great!
