We were greeted very pleasantly by one of the owners. However the motel room was very dated. It was clean and tidy but the bed had roll together issues. We also experienced the other owner being discourteous to other guests speaking down to them in front of us and others.

The motel is a bit removed from the center of town; however, we walked to town due to limited parking - perhaps 1/2 mile. The motel is clean and the rooms are spacious. Due to earthquake, wifi was not reliable but that seemed to be the fact around town.

Great location, size of the rooms and friendly hospitable hosts. Although its not the newest accommodation available everything is kept clean and fresh and offers really good value. Would definitely stay here again.

We finished up in a double bedroom unit - mistake in booking maybe but not what we had expected. The second bedroom was that small that it was impossible to open the wardrobe door - a bed in the way. The unit just felt dated and very tired and needed some TLC to drag it into the 21st century. Light...

Not flash but spotlessly clean and a comfy bed. Our room had a lovely wee view of the sunrise over the sea. The free wifi was a plus. The kitchen is basic (microwave, kettle) with cheerful and plentiful crockery etc. Easy drive to a selection of takeaways.

Units were very clean and a good size for a family. The one we were in was a little scruffy but ok for a night or two. Lovely location to go across the road and watch the sun rise in the morning. Nice bar at the end of the road. Friendly staff.

we thought this was a good location because it was across from the beach and close to the restaurants and boat rides. the hotel was homey and clean. it was a little rundown in places like the carpet and flooring, but the price was unbeatable, so it made up for it. the wifi was free and there was a full...

This motel was located probably half way between the shops and the end of the road where you can start the Kaikoura Peninsula walk. The beach is opposite. We had two units booked with a double and single in each one. One was slightly different to the other eg. one had fridge/freezer. Both were very clean with nice crisp linen...

We were passing through Kaikoura for a night, and chose to stay at this hotel. The living / bed area had a modernised decor, and provided more than adequate space. The bathroom was dated but serviceable. Furthermore the plumbing fixtures on the vanity were an issue; the cold tap wasn't fixed in its place, and the hot tap was hard...

I felt that we were made welcome on arrival, and were were shown to our room personally. Unfortunately, it did smell a little musty but either we got used to it or the place aired. It was a bit difficult to cook in the room but in the end we went out for fish and chips. However, it is quite...
