Very welcoming, felt like you were staying with friends. Lovely comfortable room, even came with fluffy dressing gown. Wine and beer provided free of charge, Fabulous breakfast. Jane and Quentin were great hosts and really helpful with local information and making my stay special. Can't recommend this B&B highly enough

Jane and Quentin provided the ideal environment for a 2-day stay at their beautiful home. The view from our room was great, and the breakfasts were even better. We asked for restaurant suggestions and had two great evening meals. Overall, this was one of the best B&B's in New Zealand.

We stayed at the Nikau Lodge and our hosts were Jane & Quentin. We had the loveliest view across Kaikoura to the snow covered mountains, green meadows, and the Pacific Ocean. Quentin suggested a great restaurant and made our reservation. The day of our whale watching trip changed into a drive in the farmlands and river valley near Mt. Fyffe...

Great view from the front bedrooms, super breakfast, hot tub was very enjoyable and the complimentary wine/beer was a bonus. Only issue was the noisy night traffic. But overall a great B & B and very handy for the Whale watching.

We enjoyed 2 nights in the Whale room in March and had a great time. The room was large with a gorgeous view and super comfortable bed. The breakfast was plentiful (although we missed the first one because we went on the early morning Whale watch trip), and there is even complimentary beer and wine for guests to enjoy. We...

A wonderful welcome to this small 6 room B&B with the best breakfast of a whole month trip. The view is stupendous over the pacific. Rooms comfortable, welcoming hosts, can walk into town. Only minimal drawback is occasional heavy artic on the hill nearby (this is the main N-S route of South Island......but in NZ that's less busy than a...

We stayed for two nights. Breakfast was very good and the hosts were friendly and helpful. They were even kind enough to drive us to the start of the Kaikoura Peninsula Walkway in South Bay. The walls are quite thin and we could hear guests in the next room using the toilet and the decor is a bit dated, which...

We were blown away by this lovely little Bed and Breakfast and in particular with the view from the Whale Room and with the warm welcome by Quentin when we arrived late in the afternoon after a long day of flying from Brisbane then driving up the coast to Kaikoura. He organised for a local restaurant to pick us up...

We stayed for two nights during which we did a whale watching trip. The whale watch centre is around a 15 minute walk away. Breakfast was very good and the hosts were friendly. We stayed here for one night in order to go whale watching but our trip was cancelled due to bad weather. Our room was fine, the bed was comfortable and the breakfast was excellent. Centre of town for restaurants etc is just down hill past the church by a walkway. We have a Border Terrier called Jack so it was...
