Quentin and Jane made us very welcome and also helped us with our bags up to our room. We arrived on a very wet and wintry day ( despite it being February) after a long drive up from Tekapo. Nikau lodge commands a spectacular view across Kaikoura as we discovered the following morning. Our room was lovely and cosy and... More

A lovely two night stay in Nikau Lodge, Deal Street. We booked via their own website in order to receive some discount, and as a stopover during our Coastal Pacific train journey. The highlights were the lovely sea and mountain views from our room and the super breakfasts which are cooked to order. These can be served in the guest... More

Nikau Lodge is a beautiful small lodge. The rooms are awesome and the views are fantastic. And Quentin and Jane are extremely helpful and responsive....I did not have a car and they pick me up and drop me to the bus station as I had some heavy baggage :). Breakfasts are top quality including a very good coffee, I loved... More

Thank you very much for your review. We are happy to pick guests up from the train station. It is not far as the crow flies but we are part way up a hill (that's why we have such great views) and walking with heavy bags is hard work. More

I came across the website for Nikau Lodge on the NZ Tourism website and immediately chose to stay there. I wasn't disappointed. My room was beautiful and Quentin and Jane were very welcoming and helpful hosts. I loved the breakfasts and would recommend their B+B to anyone.

My husband and I spent two days at the Nikau lodge March 2014. We stayed in the Dolphin Room. The view was awesome. Our hosts were so gracious and our breakfasts came straight from the Food Channel. This is a must for a New Zealand B&B.

Thanks very much for your review. Quentin would like to point out that he does do more than hold up the bench and do the dishes e.g. giving cheek to Australians! PS. The fish are now on a diet. More

We thoroughly enjoyed our stay in Nikau Lodge in February. A great welcome from Quentin, who met us at the station, and his wife Jane and we immediately felt at home. Excellent breakfast of multi-choices and a bar in the bedroom with coffee, tea and fresh milk for us to help ourselves. Sadly we had a downstairs bedroom and so... More

Stayed for 3 days in February. It had all we could want- and more. The room is very comfortable with great views, the breakfasts set you up for the day, and after a day walking the peninsula, swimming with dolphins or whale watching there is fridge with wine or speights beer to refresh. Perfect!
