The pleasant staff at reception is the only positive aspects of this motel. Although the room was spacious and the bed comfortable it was very badly in need of general upgrading. The ceiling light comprised a rather dim fluorescent tube without any baffle. Sound insulation between rooms was very poor. The short passageway leading to the w.c. accommodated a wash-hand basin, alongside which was a small shelf with an electric kettle. We had booked and paid for two nights but we left after just one and went to another hotel.

We only spent a night here before flying to Christchurch. Staff on reception both in the evening (we arrived at 9.30pm) and at 4.30am the following morning, were friendly, welcoming and helpful.

Rooms are a little dated and need a few things done in the shower area. But were very clean and spacious.

Bed was comfy and no road noise. Pity we had some noisy people several times over night in nearby room.

Amazing pressure in the shower and plenty of hot water.

One concern was two of the entry doors at side and rear of hotel were open when we arrived at 9.30pm, I feel these should have been closed. And one of the doors had a mouse trap next to it.

Reasonable sized car parking area and free car parking for 7 days.

Nice to have free transfers to and from airport arranged by staff and they use taxis. About 10 mins away.

Basic place to stay but ok for a night and would stay again.

You’ll be hard pressed to locate a pool lounger or even a chair to enjoy a dip in what seems like an inoperable swimming pool even though marketing uses a picture of it as a come hither. A single electrical outlet services two power strips daisy chain styled to plug in a small lamp, and refridge.
Spartan room without a stitch of charm.

If you’ve found yourself stranded without an alternative this is your place.
There’s a fan in the room, thankfully. Airport shutttle gets you where you need to be.

Looks like a good dining area, maybe they offer or host something?

Over priced for what it is.

We booked online, photos looked perfect to stay the night and leave the car for the week while away. Arrived, service was great however the room was over powered with chemical smell, had to leave front door and sliding door open. So run down, weeds everywhere Sliding door was stuck and had to use force to open. The hotel maybe rented out to government families (nothing wrong with that) however there was no privacy as they were looking through the windows while we were in our room. Free shuttle offered yet we were told the next morning due to leave for the airport that they didn't have a driver but offered a uber which they paid for. Wasnt comfortable leaving car at the back and took the risk leaving at the front. On return of our trip we called to be picked up from the airport and was told they no longer offer the shuttle and to get a taxi back and they will reimburse. We won't be staying there again.

We stayed here as it was a last minute booking with a few other family members - we had 3 rooms booked. The only good this about our room was the beds. They were very comfortable. Other wise this place was not very good ! Our shower drain must have been blocked so no water would go down the drain. Walls all had cracks in them. Mini fridge smelt. Grass area our back was nice for the kids to run around on. Pool is fenced off but not locked. All you have to do is push the gate and it opens.

The only reason we stayed here was because our flight got in late at night and we needed somewhere to sleep before picking up our campervan. Very basic room. We didn't need much in the form of luxury just somewhere to sleep and shower. bEd was comfy but the shower needed some work. They do have a shuttle service from the airport who we had to call from the airport. The staff were not overly friendly and the small request we asked of them seemed to hard.

We have stayed here a couple of times before and it has always been a good place to get your head down for a night. Unfortunately the hotel appears to of changed ownership and a lot has changed. On checking in the staff were friendly and it was a quick process, we went to our room and it was clear the room was neglected, peeling wallpaper, scuff marks on the walls, the sink was disgusting and the furniture was well past its use by date.
We used the shower and there was no pressure, more of a trickle. The hotel is also now being used for emergency housing and is alot noisier than previously with banging and shouting down the corridors until late, at 1 point in the evening it appeared someone was trying to break down their room door.
This used to be a good place to stay but I doubt I will be returning in future.

This hotel has definitely seen better days. It is shabby, not sparkling clean, and the rooms are very basic. No extra blankets or pillows, one bedside light for 2 beds, worn carpet, and a general air of *we don't care*. The hotel is not centrally heated and it took ages for the supplied heater to make a difference. Our wake up call didn't happen (maybe fault of phone or receptionist). However the staff were polite and obliging and they did have a free airport shuttle at 4.45am.
Not enough to intice us back.

Very friendly staff, lots of on-site parking, location is great right next to motorway, with restaurants, cafe, pharmacy and dairy close by. Had a clean room and value for money laundry service- $5 for wash and dry. Would be great in the summer when the pool could be used! Overall, staff were very accommodating and happy to help and would recommend.

We stayed at Airport Palms having arrived in Christchurch on late flight from Sydney.
We took taxi to hotel and found late arrival entry arrangements well organised.
Our room was very clean and a packed breakfast was stored in the fridge.
The bed was very comfortable.
Overall, we had a very comfortable overnight stay.
