This room was $129 for a queen bed in an old small room with and old small bathroom with only a shower. It is very clean. I have stayed in many hotels this trip and this is the poorest value.
I booked a nonrefundable with a third party vendor otherwise I would have left after seeing the room.
It is clean though. And they have airport transfers.

The only thing that redeems this hotel is the airport transfers. Honestly how this hotel is still trading is a miracle. The rooms are not only dated the curtains are torn everything is just glued together and playing a waiting game. The rooms are clean. you are a long way from anywhere unless you have a car it is hard to get around. We had to book 2 nights as we came in the early morning on one night 4.30 am . Look if you are transferring and just need a bed which is all the hotel caters to in reality. The pool was a deep mossy green the walkways are lifting the walls are full of spac filler. Sorry but next time I will stay at the Novotel which is right at the airport.

Very basic but clean. Very noisy won’t stay again. The exterior looks abandoned the rooms are in great need of painting. It’s basic but cheep
Sleeps three and the beds are comfortable. A few extra tea bags would no go amiss and the 4 tiny milk cartons only did two cups of tea.

I stayed here in november 2019 and it was sufficient so I re-booked for dec/jan a couple days on my way back from wellington. i'm visiting from america and travel alot so have stayed in countless motels/hotels. Second time was horrible. i did not feel safe and many homes in the area have high fences and barred windows.

i was there news years eve so didn't think much about the fireworks noise and loud music noise around the property all night, that was understandable. BUT then it continued every day after too.

If you MUST stay there ,get a room on the inside around the pool, like the first time i was there. this last time i was across the alley from the homes that seem to party 24/7 . there are no windows so if you want fresh air you have to have the sliding glass door open (with no screen), but then all you hear are the woofer booms across the street that are horribly loud. along with people yelling and slamming doors day and night. actually i wouldn't be surprised if the inner rooms could hear it too. also with the door open cigarette smoke would waft in from the people standing in the parking lot smoking.

i think the homes were having a loud noise competition that week because if it wasn't one it was the other (and i think there were small children in one!!). i mean all day and until 4AM, no kidding. and i mean every day and night, no kidding. not just loud music, but LOUD banging booms from the bass.

no soundproofing between rooms, no microwave, sketchy neighborhood, not clean, very old furniture, no fan so they gave me the one behind reception, broke 2nd day. two twin beds pushed together is how they consider a queen bed. depending on what staff person you are dealing with you can have a good or bad experience. most are hard to understand. shuttle driver seemed annoyed with me that it was only me to pick up and not more people. at my november stay, the shuttle guy was great and all reception staff were great, not sure what happened there. nothing is within walking distance either.

ONE good thing is i ordered food 3X and every time it was delicious and the bar manager that took my orders was very pleasant. basil pesto fettuccine gave me two meals and the chicken tenders were lightly breaded and was actual chicken with great french fries so i had that twice.

many reviews state that it was close to the airport (i don't think it was that close, it's NOT by the airport), but if you have free shuttle what does that matter?? it's not worth the lower price for that reason.

obviously, would never stay there again. it's almost comical how many of the reviews are one star and wish they could rate it a zero! since i had an OK visit the first time i didn't look at the recent reviews. the place is only getting older and in more disrepair, the pool will be getting grosser, the furniture will be more scratched up, the entire place will be dirtier. i doubt they will do a complete renovation even though that's what's needed.

First off the staff really couldnt care less at all. The rooms were tired, and extemely unloved, not cleaned properly, and as for the garden what a mess. There was a car battery outside of my room for two days. The staff told me because of covid they couldnt maintain the property, well actually get off your backsides and go and weed the garden, its not hard, and even office staff, and managers could do that. With people obviously living there, and a pretty full place there was no excuse for this. There was music playing in the rooms next door all night, people got up and left all hours, presume shiftwork. The pathway to the main area from the rooms as dark and not lit up, lots of puddles where the weeds hadn't been cleared, and far to dark to be wondering at night. As for the food! you really need to be ashamed of what you sent out, first undercooked fish, and cold chips, sent back, and to be honest why bother, you should have just given my money back. One guy had chips and thats all, and we were the only other patrons, for goodness sake, dont you like what you do! The only thing you were interested in was the gaming machines takings. The breakfast meal from that morning was still spilt all over the table cloths at 6.30pm, clean the place and give a dam. I think your using covid as an excuse for poor care, poor cleaning and poor attitude. We are all working hard to recover, and we certainly dont sit on our butts ignoring the situation. Never ever would i recomend this

We cancelled 48 hours beforehand as a result of my wife breaking her foot in Adelaide and being unable to fly. I rang up to cancel our reservation and was told in a very abrupt and unfriendly manner that there were no refunds. Not at all impressed with their service or customer relations.

We had to get up very early to catch our flight, so we went to bed at 9 pm. We didn't fall asleep until midnight. Terrible noise, loud music, people screaming. There was obviously a party going on. I called the front desk twice and they told me that they would handle it, but they didn't. They called the noise patrol and that was it. The party was outside the premises so there was nothing they could do. The front desk told me that this happens every weekend and there was nothing they could do. They should have told us beforehand, we we're totally exhausted and they weren't prepared to compensate because the loud party was not on their premises. Very bad service! So if you're in need for a good night's sleep, don't book this motel. I'm very disappointed that our vacation had to end like this.

Oh, and their wine tasted like vinegar

Staying one night close to the airport . Looking for something cheap and cheerful. Didnt succeed on any of those ! Made too quick a reservation for hotels with free shuttle , choosing this one. One night we will not get back ! Shuttle part was fine . When we arrived at the hotel, it looked uninviting and this feel continued as we walked through to the room . The restaurant and bar area were a no go area and once in the room my wife didn’t want to leave the room alone. It’s in desperate need of a make over. The room was cold , noisy and austere. Think some Cold War hotel room movie set or detention centre. Curtains hanging off . Light outside was very bright and on all night so room was bright even with the curtains shut. There were cars coming and going all night with the obligatory doof doof bass resonating through the room. So very little sleep was had . A good thing was that the hot water was very hot , staff were “ok “ and we were only staying one night ! We won’t be back

After reading quite a few negative reviews on this place I was more than a little concerned, however, having left our booking to the last moment we thought we would just roll with it.
We were pleasantly surprised. Yes, our room was a little tired but very clean and comfortable.
The few staff we met were polite and helpful.
Best of all there was secured car parking operated by using our room key card.
There is also a free airport shuttle service if you are requiring one.
I would highly recommend using Airport Garden Inn if looking for well priced accommodation close to the airport.

I booked a stay and in the notes make it absolutely clear we are arriving at 10 past midnight on 28 September. I gave my flight details and everything.
Arrive and call for airport pick up to be told that no I can’t check in till 2pm and nothing they can do as fully booked.
They didn’t care that they had left us with nowhere to stay in the middle of the night when I did everything possible to ensure details were crystal clear.

The person answering their phone was an absolute pos and needs to lose his job!!

We have now had to spend another $250 to find somewhere at 1am and get Uber to it. I will be sending invoice to you to reimburse because this was an absolute bs move!!

I agree with Dottie. Do not book this Hotel. Couldn't sleep all night because of loud music outside the premises and hotel staff couldn't do a thing about it. So they said...

I arrived late myself(10:30pm) and still found ample taxis waiting at the airport that could shuttle myself, my bike and my extra luggage to the hotel that I had booked, I found the courtesy level here in New Zealand to be very excellent and go to my destination with no worries.
