We got to the accommodation a bit early and had to wait two hours for check-in. This was no problems for us. At 1:00 we were told that our room was ready for check-in. We got the key and where shown to the room. Turned out our room wasn't ready, the receptionist apologized and

It was very easy for me to feel cozy and welcomed at The Palace. Alec was very helpful and friendly, every time I saw him he inquired how I was and how I was liking it. Very accommodating and easy transition when I had to move beds during my stay. Everyone had a chill demeanor

I really enjoyed staying at the Palace. It feels like going over to friends or staying at your holiday house with a heap of chilled out people. The common areas are like living rooms and everything feels so homy and cosy with a personal touch. Alec and Nicolas (?) were very

I stayed here for five or six days. The house is old but very nice. Good view of Nelson and of the hills. The receptionist guy is very helpful and friendly, the same for the staff and woofers. There is a car park (5 or 6 places). The share room is nice, good view on Nelson.

I was not drunk.I do not drink. However I was intensely irritated by their attitude. This group said they would be arriving around 11pm,2hours after closing time and I offered to stay up and wait for them.I asked them to call again just before arriving so I could re-open reception, assign them a carpark and let them in.Instead I find one of them banging on the hostel door just before midnight! I asked the three of them to come inside and sign in, but the female in the group stayed in the car on her tablet.I went back outside and asked her to come in,then waited another few minutes for her to come in.When we went outside again she was still sitting in the car on her tablet, and I decided not to let them stay.I am sorry, but sometimes people need to be aware that while it may not be the case in their own country, in New Zealand the people who are there to serve them have rights and deserve some respect.
