We stayed two nights at Ambleside during our 3 week tour of the South Island. Peter and Janine warrant all the positive comments here from other travelers - they are excellent hosts. Peter was especially sporting when Ireland beat the All Blacks for the first time in 111 years, just after a brilliant breakfast on the Sunday morning (Saturday evening...

We travelled for 7 weeks and this was the best B&B we stayed in. They took us anywhere we need to get. Breakfast was amazing. The room was very comfortable. Peter was the perfect host. We would come and stay with them without any question.

We stayed here for three nights and very much enjoyed the amazing breakfast menu (really good!), the hot tub, and superb hospitality of Janine and Peter. There are ample opportunities for daytrips by bus or cab, but the surrounding area can be best explored by car.
