We stayed at The White House for 3 nights middle of February, it would have been more only it was fully booked! Not suprisingly....the rooms are great, really well finished off with everything you could want at your fingertips. Full use of the lounge and kitchen downstairs just made it more like home. Late breakfast was a definite winner. Best... More

The White House is a small boutique hotel offering superb rooms and the best breakfast in the Bay of Islands. The location is ideal, everything is a two minute walk. You can park right outside and the car ferry to the other side of the bay is a short drive. Go to Waitangi where the peace treaty was signed it... More

Emma & Steve were excellent hosts in a beautiful part of the world. The Whitehouse location works well - just a minute's pleasant walk from the waterfront and restaurants. Accommodation was very comfortable with nice touches including creatively styled bathroom, a good sized bedroom and great outdoor areas. Free guest use of broadband internet computer in the common area was... More

I found this hotel by trawling through New Zealand websites and despite our travel agent telling us it wasn't a recognised hotel on their list... there was something about this place that really appealed to me.... so I offered to book it myself and hey presto they managed to do it for us! I'm so glad we did, The White... More

Enjoyed a too brief 2 night stay at The White House in December and felt our choice was perfect. Emma and Steve have obviously put a lot of work into making The White House a beautiful, welcoming and relaxing place to stay in beautiful Russell. Nothing seems to be too much trouble for their guests. Breakfasts are relaxed with a... More

My wife and I stayed two nights at the White House , on October 30 and 31 which was an absolute delight. This B&B has been extensively renovated by Steve Jury (the co owner) to restore the charm of this historic homestead which dates back to the 1800's ( I think) and is part of the culture of the first... Have just had a wonderful 3 day break away and stumbled across The White House on the net whilst looking at accomodation options..........decided to call rather than the impersonal web booking approach and spoke with Emma re: their "Winter Break' deal which sounded just the ticket. No pressure re: arrival times, we made our way up from Auckland and were... More

Large, luxurious room with ensuite. Added bonus of guest lounge & kitchen which gave more space to relax in. Very helpful hosts. Great breakfast spread. Only wish we'd had the chance to jump in the spa!

The White House in Russell is an amazing place. It has been restored from a shell of a building into a fantastic and beautifully run boutique accommodation. My wife and I had heard about Russell from friends and decided we must go to this stunning town. Having stayed in various cheaper establishments around our tour of New Zealand we thought... More
