Telephoned to enquire availability and was not greeted warmly, call disconnected abruptly when we made a tentative booking as we could not use overseas debit card.
Lady phoned next day to hustle a commitment. arrived early to check out room as arranged. accepted room as adequate, charged the same price as we had paid the night prior for our lovely Gem.
On closer inspection after check in cracks showed clearly.
Shabby front desk and unwelcome greeting, no introduction by hostess.
Bathroom very small and cramped
Freezer frozen full.
Rusted stovetop.
Mold & Rust on all window sills
Soap scum on shower screen.
Water scalding hot - careful
Grubby light switches.
Entry to all units was grubby and untidy.
Sink taps useless in Room 2, too close to wall and basin, can't turn on or put hands under tap to wash.
Front is disheveled and untidy.
Strong smell of spices or curry permeates the air in the room.
In bringing some of these issues to the hostess I was met with a 'don't care' attitude, she did not comment or write any of these things down so I am doing it now.
This place needs some love and a HUGE reduction in the price they charge. Way too overpriced for what you get.

Located south of city centre, small, compact self-catering unit with basic facilities. Clean & tidy but bed too soft for our liking. Local shops within 5mins walk for provisions. Motel location convenient to SH1.

We had a quick look at our room and just took it as we wanted to be close to Papakura. Here is the list of issues:
Window latch in toilet was broken so unit was not secure. Shower head was up side down and was dripping. There was black mold on the window sill and around the shower. Cans of food from previous person was left under sink along with takeaway container. Light in toilet did not work. Under the single been was a pair of shoes, used tissue and a toy. Shabby patched up switches and broken door. Very old and dated. Unit needed a good clean. Clearly signs of some long tern residents. Reading the review from 2 years ago about room 2 same issues. On checkout I tried to explain the problems and when I said about the shower, the lady oh yes we have the plumber coming today? I did not believe her and she was not interested in listening to me. We hardly ever write reviews but people need to know. Closest I have come to walking out and asking for a refund but we have family to attend to which is why we stayed.

We booked over a month ago to stay at this motel, they rang and confirmed our booking three nights before our stay. We get to the motel tired sometime after 7pm to find they have no room for us. They explained we were only staying two nights, new customers had booked for three nights, which gave them an extra nights revenue, so they had booked us into another motel quite a way down the road. We were unhappy with this, this motel was walking distance to where we were having tea for the two nights, so we then had to use a taxi (luckily after a "discussion" they gave us some money towards the taxi). Acquaintances from the south island were also staying at the motel. We had already stayed at the alternative motel the year before and had trouble parking our truck there, hence why we had not booked there again. So a nightmare, all because the owners wanted an extra nights revenue. Terrible, terrible ethics. Do not stay here - especially if you pre-book, you cant be sure they will actually have a room for you.

We chose this motel because it had a 8.1 rating on booking.com. I see that it has since gone down to a 7.9. I am not surprised because it should be much lower. We booked the family unit for us and our adult son. When we arrived we were led to a very small studio room with an extra bed stuffed in the corner. When we quizzed the woman she told us that the toilet was blocked in the family unit so we couldn’t stay there. I still don’t believe this excuse - I think they double booked. The unit was small very basic and with dated décor. There was no table or chairs in the room. Why bother having basic cooking facilities then? I wouldn’t stay there again but it is probably okay for 1 or 2 people that have a limited budget.

This motel was clean and comfortable but basic. If you need to stop over before flying out of Auckland then this might suit you. A short walk to a few reasonable restaurants and not far off the highway.

I stayed two nights. Old but nice and clean. The blinds were not closed and a liquid soap was not enough to wash hands. Better check everything upon your arrival. Very handy to shop and dine out. 古いですが、綺麗に掃除されています。スーパーやレストランが歩いて10分ぐらいの所にあり、便利です。オーナーが代わり、以前より対応が悪くなったようです。

Only stayed one night. Inside had been refurbished but outside looks a bit run down.
It was clean, cooking facilities not great (we ate out). It suited our needs as it was close to town. A bit of noise as its near great south road and the small room was O K as just the two of us.

Was in Papakura for a birthday with my aged mother, we stayed for two nights here. This is a very small motel, maybe 5-6 rooms only. We had a twin room. Firstly though I must say the owner or receptionist was very friendly, welcoming and helpful, great. The room was very small/ compact, clean and tidy, had what we needed. Just a few concerns, outside the front door around the garden was the smell of cat pee, not appealing but fixable. The beds were very uncomfortable and hard, had a heat pump in the room, but was not working and no extra pillows. Not very soundproof. 6/10.
