Very impressed with this hotel from the outset. Because such a large group were arriving with Thomson a special check in desk was arranged for us with a selection of beverages whilst we waited. Check in was therefore very easy and pain free and in the room with 20 minutes of arriving. The size of the property is initially daunting...

There were quite a few things that were lacking in order to make it a 5 start resort. No coffee makers in the room and lack of toiletries in the bathroom. The comforter on the bed was marked with brown spots in the inner cover. When we took it to the front desk to complain, a new comforter was replaced...

Went here for our first anniversary. The hotel needs updating. The rooms are a little outdated and there is rust in the bathroom. We switched rooms due to issues of cleanliness and a broken lock. Looked at a few rooms and they were relatively all the same. Food wasn't great, beach was mediocre and the WiFi was horrible. We bought...

Stayed January 13 to 20, 2017. Group of 5 couples. Hotel personnel very pleasant and helpful. A la Carte restaurants are excellent except for Italian, poor quality. Large rooms cleaned every day. Very busy pool area. Very difficult to get chairs by the pool. Beach is clean with lots of chairs. Rocky beach bring water shoes ! Grounds well manicured.

From start to finish we were in heaven the décor, food , bars and bedrooms, are of a good standard . The grounds and gardens were beautiful and well maintained , just a short walk along the beach to feed the family of monkeys . The hotel was constantly being cleaned and painted . I was so impressed that a...

My husband and I always stay at the "palaces" ... my travel agent didn't book the palace and I didn't double check to make sure (my fault!) -- but ...after the first day, we realized that the resort was fairly good. The grounds were kept up well and the staff was friendly. The only negative thing I have to say...

All the complainers I'll never understand. My husband and I were married here in March 2013 and we just got back from a trip (January 2017) with our toddler and it is as perfect now as it was then. There are SO many options for food! So so many. It's impossible to not find something delicious. And not having to...

We stayed at Riu to celebrate New Year with 3 other families. We are experienced all-inclusive type of resort travelers. We have been to multiple resorts in Jamaica, DR and Mexico so we had our expectations and prejudgments... This is a small resort but very nice! The grounds are immaculate; the pool area is bustling and happening - there is...

Pros: housekeeping does a great job with the cleanliness of rooms and basically the whole resort. Nice beach, pool and a great variety of food and drinks. Very relaxing atmosphere - view around the resort is stunning. Very professional, bilingual and nice staff. Cons: not much nightlife, the DJ at the club in the resort is actually pretty good but...

We had a wonderful time here. Our stay was from 12/26/16-1/4/17. This was our first time in Costa Rica and our two kids traveled with us, ages 5 &7. We spent the majority of our time between the pool and the beach and left the hotel twice for excursions. I created a simple list of pros and cons, hope you...
