We arrived with our caravan on a very hot day only to find gates locked and several signs saying closed. We read about it in the Destination Katherine visitors guide and thought it sounded like a good spot to stay for a week. CLOSED signs at the Stuart Hwy turn off would have been a good idea and saved us...

Stayed here in July. Was told budget motel more like a hovel. Put in back packers section first, It look like a concentration camp. Moved into Motel section after air con stopped after five minutes and water coming out of hot water pipes also number on door, paper with number written on. Motel section not much better though appliances worked....

We didn't actually stay at Springvale homestead. Instead we went to the 3pm tour (by tour, I mean a talk under the shade of the trees in front of the original and oldest pastoral homesteads in NT) which was very entertaining. It was also a chance to hear a bit of NT history and a good way to pass the...

My Stay at Springvale Homestead was great. my room was simple, but the bed was comfortable and the the room clean. The people who work there went out of their way to make my stay enjoyable and I thought the setting was very beautiful. Red soil, ghost gums, bush turkeys, a great pool, river and stream (with Crocs)... it was...

Springvale Homestead has very poor management. This park came recommended by friends who have stayed there. We booked our site prior to arrival but on arrival were told no booking first in best dressed, our pre booked crocodile sunset cruise was cancelled they rang said no driver 3hrs before we arrived. This is a very congested noisy park with filthy...

Firstly I felt so sorry for the lady working there. She is running around trying to do it all on her own so management is not very well organised leaving one staff member to work the whole place including reception and kitchen in peak time high season so therefore the delays were inevitable as she is one person trying to...

Springvale homestead is believed to be the oldest dwelling in the Northern Territory. The history is impressive and the internet provides you with the history lesson. The cemetery is not old, although you could be believe it is. A communal eating/BBQ area is provided but use this at your own peril. There are no knobs on the BBQ and the...

This is 7kms outside Katherine on the banks of the Katherine River and has it's own fresh water crocodiles.A very relaxed camp site with very few rules. Maybe not as clean as some we stayed at but had a wonderful atmosphere with everyone lighting little camp fires as there was plenty of free wood.It was a budget motel accommodation at...

Toilet block not cleaned regularly as rubbish in bins for 3 days. Toilets are dirty and smelly. Not much care taken to clean floor or hand basins. Rubbish full bins and not emptied so rubbish bags put beside bins. Swimming pool is not as picture taken and is old. Friendly staff. Could put some money back into property to tidy...

Arrived on the 4th of June after a long drive. I called 2 days prior to confirm budget hotel style accommodation, all confirmed and ok at that time. Checked in on the 4th and given a "donga" style room in a block of 14 (or thereabouts) with very close neighbours. While ok, not what we booked or expected. Overall the...
