Travelling from Camooweal in Queensland on our journey to Darwin. We stopped by chance to break our journey. Paid $20 and told to park wherever. Set up camp and went to plug in TV. No tv reception. Went to plug in power, no power. Meet by young bloke who said bar open at 6pm. Meet 3 other couples who also...

Nice peaceful camp ground, simple but great atmosphere, clean facilities, lots of nice lawn areas, good checkin system, low price for camping, felt safe and secure being off the road. We really enjoyed a good stop off point along a stretch of road without many good options

We chose this place almost at random to break the journey from Darwin to Alice Springs and were very pleasantly surprised. It is a family run business and the hosts are very welcoming. Facilities are basic and a bit old but clean and well maintained. Lots of animals around to entertain the kids and a good look out fro the...

Top spot to stay. We were traveling in the end of the season so there were only 7 vans each night. Fire pit lit on request due to of season. Good managers. 2 donkeys and 2 camels. The water hole was warm on top and cool underneath, water was discoloured due to leaf matter and will be good again after...

Stayed for 1 night on our way between Alice and Mataranka and thoroughly enjoyed it. It's a simple station campground with grassy area for camping and decent shower facilities. You get to camp on grass which is a luxury for us camper trailers in the Outback. No power but plenty of natural spring water available. We would definitely come back!

Arrived mid afternoon and met by a scruffy, tattooed bloke at the gate. Checked in ($20) and got a reasonable site. Power and water. Amenities pretty ordinary. Campground right beside the highway and road trains pretty noisy. Nothing special.

Lovely surprise in the middle of nowhere. Clean amenities. Grassy sites which is amazing this time of year. Extremely friendly reception from the owners (even an icy pole for the kids!). Kids also loved the resident donkeys and camels. Well done.

Most vans back into a lovely grassed area forming a circle by the end of day. The amenities are a little way back but are clean with good showers. One washing machine but plenty of line space. Happy hour did not work around the fire. Disappointed that only one little door to the historic building was open with a tiny...

Whilst there may not be powered sites, there is grass and good water, a campfire and clean facilities. Unlike many camping spots, it also has the opportunity to go for a walk which we found a pleasant change. Even if you climb Mt Barka.......which will take all of 5 mins, you can get a good view of the surrounding country.
