The place is cozy, I went with my family and we stayed in the bungalow in front of the beach. There is a lot of nature around. They accept pets and have several cute animals walking around the inn, cats and dogs. The staff are pleasant and polite. The receptionist, Liz, is a sweetheart and treated us very well from our arrival until our departure!

Suggestions: improve the breakfast, as it really left a lot to be desired! At 9 am there was practically nothing to eat, the food ran out and was not replenished. Unfortunately, this was a negative point, which we could not help but comment on.

There was very heavy rain during our stay, the bungalow had some leaks, one of them above the bed. Another point that I think is very important is the operation during the night and early morning. Because I needed to speak to the inn at 00:00 and I couldn't do it at all, I had a hard time.

Another suggestion is to place a food and water feeder for the pets, cats and dogs, they brighten up the inn! I particularly loved Bob and the cats…

Anyway, other than that, it's good value for money and a very pleasant place.

I recently returned with my family from this hotel, and we were really amazed with all the staff and structure. The hotel is located on one of the best beaches in the whole region, some parts were already in reform but far from where we were. The private beach is perfect for those with children, super safe, clean and wonderful. We stayed in the chalet by the sea, a rustic kiosk and basically with our feet in the sand, amazing to be so close to the sea!
The staff is super attentive and receptive, and the breakfast very complete and organized! Super recommend!

We had a wonderful stay of 10 days in December 2011 as we were in Brazil for the wedding at a nearby beach of our son to a Brazilian girl from Itapetinga. As first time visitors to Brazil we were worried about local food etc but there was no need to worry! The food was all excellent, particularly the pasta as the owner was Italian, but we enjoyed all the local dishes as well - in fact I think we ate better than at home! The hotel was clean & tidy with good local decor in the bedrooms (air-conditioned) & dining room. The beach & pool were excellent as were the tropical gardens, complete with two resident parrots who serenaded us in the dining room most nights. In the evening the owners & the staff ate in the same dining room as the guests as it was very friendly & informal. The staff were very friendly & always willing to help but their English was very limited as we were just about their first UK visitors, however, by halfway through our stay they had bought an English/Portuguese guide & were putting it to good use.
We will be returning to Brazil in the future to visit our daughter-in-law's family & we will definitely stay at this poussada again.
Our son & Daughter-in-law stayed in a palm thatched bungalow just above the beach which had all "mod-cons" & where they would like to stay again in the future.

The hotel has a beautiful view, and is right on the sand.

Breakfast, we were served very well, delicious food with a lot of variety, breakfast starts at 7:30 am, but they never start on time, I saw several guests leaving with food in hand, due to being late for missing the tours.

But the structure of the hotel left a lot to be desired, the hotel needs urgent renovation.

The main thing is administration with more professionalism, a swimming pool with broken tiles.

My daughter cut her foot at the bottom of the pool, due to a broken tile and lack of pool maintenance, she had to get three stitches, which ruined all our planning.

The hotel has no security, they have no control over who enters the establishment, the hotel reception is closed in the early hours of the morning, if you need any support, raise a smoke signal.

Few employees for the hotel structure, you have a good day as soon as they respond to you.

The bed in the room is horrible, the Wi-Fi doesn't work properly, in the room I stayed in, the television was only able to get it working on my last day of stay at the hotel. There are several things to mention here.

The view from the hotel is wonderful and beautiful but there are many obstacles on the way

Equipment, furniture and facilities in extremely precarious situations. There was a lot of rust and dirt everywhere. We were given a room with cockroaches, a clogged shower, a rusty minibar, a rusty mirror, filthy windows, and stained towels (each one of a different type and size).

In the common area, same situation: dirty pool, broken and rusty chairs, dirty cushions, dirty tables and chairs.

It was still possible to witness bizarre scenes of children peeing on the edge of the pool and guests fighting over speakers.

We can only speak highly of the service provided by Liz, Daniel and Lene, who, in the midst of all the confusion, try to minimize guests' discomfort.

The photos can say a little more than what we saw.

I do not recommend. You want to leave the house to a comfortable place, at least reasonable but dirty place, disgusting minibar, low quality and expensive restaurant, there is no connection between employees and guests, just one employee who is top of the LYS, plus you travel 15 hours to be disappointed! Everything dirty and broken without maintenance! Fan doesn't work, bathroom window doesn't open.... I had to go back to change towels and toilet paper... Abandoned and outside of breakfast, they don't keep the set time!

The mouldy fridge with holes in the door seal that you could see through.
The gaps in the door that mosquitos can come into the room.
The uncomfortable and very hard bed (my back is still sore days later.
The double bed was over 1 metre high off the ground.
The single bed mattress was 10 cm thin. Very thin.
The pull out trundle bed was dirty with mould and no sheet.
The shower and toilet were dirty. We did not want to use the shower as it was gross.
The online photos look amazing, but we were very disappointed, and they were obviously photoshopped.
Breakfast was gross. Files and bugs were sitting on the food. Not fresh.
Air conditioner did not work properly in one of the bedrooms.

Overall, it was the worst experience of any Accommodation we have stayed at ever. We were supposed to stay in 2 rooms for 3 nights but left early in the morning after the first day.

The place is ideal for resting. It met our expectations. However, it needs structural improvements. The owner Zaira is an excellent host.
We went with our pets, and I can say that there was no better place for them. They felt very comfortable and were treated with great care and respect.

We have just arrived from this perfect trip! Jai and all the staff are just lovely people who give their best to make ourselves comfortable! The breakfast is very good but it's necessary to arrive as soon it opens at 7:30 because the food is in big quantity and all go and eat everything hahaha!
I hardly recommend this awesome place! Just fantastic and a perfect paradise!

We spent one night here after flying to Ilheus from Rio, and before joining a group in Bahia. We had seen at least one review saying the hotel was close to the airport, but this is not true and if your goal is the be very close to the main Ilheus airport you should book elsewhere. We stayed in one of the smaller rooms that was a bit cramped and not very inspiring, with a few mosquitos in the room as well. But it served the purpose for one night, and those attempting a longer stay should consider one of the larger beach-side cabins/rooms. Swimming in the Atlantic was heaven here - not a single other person visible on the beach. The breakfast buffet was very nice, and the gardens + dining area quite spacious and relaxing. Photos make the pool look bigger than it is, however.
