We just got back from our first trip to Blue lake Resort. I was really concerned about the drive in after reading reviews but we had no issues dragging our 30’ trailer up. We have a toddler who loved the animals, beach and playground. We were amazed at how warm the water was for swimming. The beach was pretty busy but everyone was friendly. We were sad to see the no dogs on beach signs, however, we did notice that people still brought their dogs. We decided to abide by the rules but would definitely love a place to take our girl to cool off. We loved the resort itself, and our site(43) was quite private. Staff were friendly and polite. Guests were also very friendly and it was really quiet at night which we appreciated having a little one. Overall, it was a great weekend and we’ve booked two more trips. We are now considering getting on the list for a full time spot.…
This resort is a 10/10 for families of all ages 2yrs to 75 years old or even older. The lake ,scenery, and staff are the best in the world. I have many friends that visited Blue Lake with me and now it is their DESTINATION HOLIDAY SPOT. The best way to see why, is by doing yourself a favour and staying at the resort. HINT: If available get a lakeside cabin and find out what heaven on earth feels like. I have a place on Shuswap Lake but we rent a cabin at Blue Lake for a week every year to take our family holiday break. It is the best little resort on a lake with even better staff and helpers in BC, Hands Down !!
REALLY wish they’d been more transparent with the accommodations. When we got there we were really disappointed. Not sure what the point of the map is if not to show you what the grounds look like. We picked a campsite that looked like it had some privacy, they all look like they have some space between them. It does not show all the leased RV spots. There were RV sites on 3 sides of us, our tent being only a few feet from one, which partied late into the night and ran their loud AC 24/7. Didn’t drive to the middle of nowhere to feel like we were camping in the city. Our site was tiny, half of it being an uneven shale slide. After we set up our tent and had to park in our site, there was not enough room for us all to hang out there. The kids sat on the same side of the little old picnic table and just about flipped it. Bathrooms and shower rooms were gross. Paid extra to have my dog there, was told there was a dog beach, but when we got there we were informed the dog beach was removed a year ago due to some dog incident. The kids liked the playground, animals, the boat rental dock and the hike to the viewpoint was great. The staff was very nice and the store was a hit and we visited daily.…
Office/Check in It’s a beautiful office/general store - something that you’d find in a high end hotel. But so much better - they literally have everything you would ever need for an awesome camping experience. Forgot your tent? They got one. Forgot Benadryl for the kids - they got it. Now you’re probably thinking - “sure they got it - but they take advantage of you with the price!” Quite the opposite - the prices are more than reasonable. In some cases they were more affordable than in a store outside of a resort/hotel/campground. The staff are super friendly and helpful - they even deliver the firewood to your site, help you pick out rabbit, chicken and goat food for the petting zoo (Yes, they have a petting Zoo!) and have an amazing assortment of local meats, drinks, artwork and clothing. Campsites What you’d expect from any campsite really - except loads of options from creekside to lake side to just regular in the bush to a beautiful group site in a meadow. Cabins We rented Hummingbird and blew away our expectations, Every thing you’d need for a cozy time. The kitchen is fully stocked (just remember salt and pepper and olive oil) with really nice cooking pieces. A microwave to a toaster and a on top of the stove tea kettle. They even provide life jackets and a boat for you to use! Need another boat - they rent them there too. Driving up Like the other reviews say - Be careful and go slow. It’s a nice time to remember to relax and start your beautiful vacation at an amazing resort. Bonus Features Teen Zone has a football and air hockey table. An amazing kids park next to a petting zoo. Three awesome hikes for all levels (Sasquatch is a fun one from the park to the office/store) to Look Out (which is an awesome view. Two floating docks, an awesome rope swing and a cool log you can try to walk out on. The way we were treated, the work they put into this place - you can tell the ownership and management really care about the resort and the guest experience.…
Place has become our place to go..now that we experienced the beauty and peace the cabins provide .The hot tub was so nice. The only complaint were the mattresses on the beds were very uncomfortable ..one of them had a lump in the middle .so new mattresses are greatly needed and will be appreciated.. great place to unwind.
It’s more like a last resort!! DO NOT GO HERE. The very narrow ,one way gravel road with tons of potholes ,was very scary. Also “rustic” is code for dumpy! Super rundown and unkempt. Bathrooms and showers were so dirty , we didn’t want to use them, the toilets were not even bolted to the floor! Will never go back.
Just got back from our first stay at Blue Lake Resort. We had a lake side RV site and it was perfect. We were enjoying our time so much that we extended for an extra night. Staff was friendly and helpful. The store had good supplies for forgotten items. It was new, clean, and VERY reasonably priced! All the camp grounds (both tent and RV) were well laid out, clean, private, and sized well. Our son loved the animals and playground. There was a lot to see and do. The lake was surprisingly warm. It was very peaceful and relaxing. It was an incredible experience and we can not wait to return!
The water actually amazes me. You could swim all day and it was only early May. The private docks are excellent. Shout out to the staff! They were prompt and friendly! One staff was able to get me and my girlfriend a better spot that wasn’t full of mud after we had already booked and arrived and it made a night-day difference to our trip!! Lot of amenities or privacy for whoever is looking for either.
We have visited Blue Lake Resort multiple times over the past few years. The owners and employees are always friendly and helpful, and the campground and cabins are all very well maintained. When COVID struck, they put very strong policies in place to keep their guests and staff safe and the 3 times we visited in 2020 were a great escape. The lake is beautiful and the scenery is breathtaking especially if you do the hike up to the lookout. We recommend Blue Lake Resort to all our friends. It's a great place for couples, families, pets, everyone.
We have been coming camping for a couple years now and loved it, for a spring break getaway close to home we decided to try out a deluxe cabin, creekside. It was wonderful! A great trip and the hot tub was such a treat. We now have an excuse to come even more! We also noticed the road seemed to be done more since last year. Yes its a "scary" road but be cautious, its worth the trip up. Our kids are already begging for another spring trip and summer to come quickly so they can enjoy the lake! See you soon.
