We stayed on our way home to Qld, so glad we did. Ken and Sally where wonderful friendly hosts, nothing is too much trouble, the breakfast was delicious. It was just what we needed, so relaxing and peaceful. Will make every effort to stay again.

I thought I posted a review a few weeks ago after my stay there on my honeymoon but it looks like it didn't show up and I wanted to make sure to give this B&B the love it deserves. My husband and I are from California, USA, and we recently stayed a night there in the "Banks" room on our...

We stayed with the McGowans last year (Sorry it's taken me so long to do the review Sally and Ken.) We had the Bank Vault room which was fantastic! The room was huge, the linens on the bed superior, the bathroom appointments outstanding. It was decorated in a lovely Victorian (though not over the top Victorian) style. I don't usually...

One of the most beautiful places I have ever stayed at. It is really worth going out of your way to stay here. On arrival we were greeted warmly and 2 different types of cakes were waiting for us in the dining room. Sal made us a fresh pot of tea. The rooms are really big with a lovely sitting...

Ken and Sal welcomed us back like long lost friends and as usual made us feel right at home Afternoon tea on the verandah appeared without asking and handy suggestions for where to have dinner in nearby Crowdy Head. Breakfast was excellent as always with a new taste...

Very comfortable with large rooms. Sally and Ken where perfect hosts. Lovely touches with fine China and real tea. Afternoon teas where an unexpected delight. The only reason it didn't get 5 stars was that I found the bed a little too firm - but that's a preference issue. Highly recommended

McGowans offers everything you hope you will find in a B & B, but very rarely find. Warm and generous hosts, a lovely huge room with comfy lounge, fireplace, king bed and an up to the minute ensuite. On arrival, freshly baked friands, cookies, a welcome glass of wine - nothing was too much trouble. The breakfast was sensational -...
