We stayed here while walking the Coast to Coast. Doreen and Frank were incredibly friendly, welcoming and helpful. An excellent B & B with a great breakfast and a good choice of packed lunches. A real home from home - lovely people!

The owners, Frank and Doreen Phillips have many years experience in the hospitality business. They were most friendly and hospitable. We were on the Coast to Coast walk and this was by far the best bed and breakfast.

Outstanding hospitality, with tea and tea cake on arrival. Spotlessly clean and excellent hosts who were friendly, helpful and obliging. It's only got a couple of rooms and therefore only 4 of our group stayed here giving it the following scores: 8, 8, 8 and 8.

From first meeting us we were treated like family. Toasted tea cake, cheese and jam with a cup of tea to greet us. Comfortable room, evening meal booked at pub for us just yards down the road. Good breakfast. We sat chatting with them until 10.30 as we didn't have to walk very far that day.

Stayed overnight with Frank and Doreen and we were made extremely welcome. We were greeted with tea and toasted teacakes and shown to our rooms. As hosts they simply couldn't do enough for their guests. The accommodation was very comfortable and is situated right in the middle of the village next to the pub. This was a great nights stay...

Stayed here on our recent coast to coast walk. The accommodation is very good but what makes this place is the welcome given to us by Frank and Doreen who are wonderful hosts. It felt more as if we were staying at a friend's house rather than just a B&B.

This was a very welcoming B&B - especially after a day of hiking in the rain. Frank and Doreen welcomed us in with a hot drink and teacakes and then drove us to a nearly town for dinner (as the local pub was closed). Overnight Frank washed and dried our wet gear.Would highly recommend this place!

This is a marvelous place to stay for those on the Coast to Coast walk. The owners dedicate themselves to the well being of their guests and cannot be faulted. The greeting we had was genuinely warm and throughout our stay there was nothing that was too much trouble. We are two men in their sixties who had been sharing...

Frank and Doreen are great hosts - friendly, welcoming and helpful. Accidentally left socks in the entrance - they and the muddy gaiters were returned washed and dried. Can't ask for better service than that!
