Stayed one night in a superior double room. Great location a 5min walk to Chatswood station, restaurants and shops.
Hotel itself was quaint and generally quite nice in a colonial style.
Bathroom was pretty tired otherwise room was good.
An affordable, charming old house, well located but in need of a spruce up. It was great to find a location that wasn't outrageously expensive, but it didn't quite feel 'right'. I guess you get what you pay for. The linen was clean, but the...More

I don't know what other past guests might think but i am staying at the Charrington now and have been a frequent return visitor as i like the atmosphere, Therefore I have stayed in a lot of the rooms - as all "basement' rooms are actually NOT basements as the place is built on a steep slope and so all rooms have windows onto the leafy surroundings, i am very curious as to what room "Margaret T" stayed in and if this "basement room' was an actual basement with no windows? i do not think one exists at this hotel.

well i am certainly wondering if she confused Charrington with another inn altogether... i checked today - ALL rooms have windows and near all have balconies. no 'basement' exists. hotel management told me they offered to provide fresh milk every day but that she wanted soya milk. i would say that is way above and beyond your average guest house or boutique hotel ... try the $400/night Sebel next time Margaret T - i bet they won't have soy milk delivered every day either.

"the room was quiet, and there was a balcony where my "smoking" daughter spent some of her time."
