We arrived at the desk at 12.30p.m. to check in but there was no one at the counter. There was a phone provided that would connect to the manager. We used this 3 times and each time it disconnected. We waited around for half an hour for some to arrive with whom we might even leave our bags so we...

Chose this place based on last minute availability and price for a two day visit. Very easy to find and centrally located from the train station at Katoomba. No reception as such but a gentleman at the entrance who provided us with keys etc. Basic room with shared bathrooms. Disappointed that not even a bar of soap in the room...

This is more of a hostel than a hotel. The walls are paper thin so you can hear people moving around and the toilets flushing incredibly loudly. The furniture is also very rickety and there are weird features, like the dorm rooms having windows which open into communal areas. The staff were friendly and it is centrally located to the...

Our night here was a bit of a saga... they'd lost the booking, initially gave us the key to an already occupied room, tried to increase the price we'd agreed to on the phone, was freezing cold, smelled bad, and the sounds really reverberate through the place. The icing on the cake was when someone in the room next to...

We stayed only one night at this motel. Very disappointed with the room condition. It looks old and not so clean. Toilets are shared and so far from our room. The parking area is so small and can only accommodate about 4 cars. If you are driving, make sure you are back early else you won't find a parking lot....

Lets face it, Katoomba isn't the place where you go to party like a rock star or something, then you'r at the wrong place. Katoomba is a place of peace and sights, not to mention all the friendly people! So if you stay at the Katoomba Mountain Lodge, you are in the right place! When I got here I was...

After a long day traveling we were surprised to discover how centrally located this place is and only a short walk to all public transport. Upon arrival we where warmly greeted and shown to our room which was clean and comfortable, the shared facilities where clean and very tidy. the staff where only to happy to help us with local...

I honestly do not understand how anyone could rate this place so highly! In all my travels (in many countries) I have never stayed anywhere so bad - and that includes 3rd world countries! I would not recommend this place to anyone. Ever. We stayed for one night and it was one night I will never get back! I stayed...

The Lonely Planet says 'We love it' & 'it is a great (and quirky) budget option', not sure about that. On the plus side it is fairly central to Katoomba, but like many other places a fair walk to The Blue Mountains. It's a cold place, decked out in wood panelling with a dreary colour scheme. Bed in rooms come...

We had actually booked Belgravia Guest House, the sister property, but the manager suggested that we consider staying at the Mountain Lodge instead as it was closer to the town. We agreed to do this as it was very close to the shops etc. However we felt a little bit ripped off in hindsight as we had actually paid for...
