Such a majestic and historical place in the main street of Katoomba, near the station. One cannot miss it as its brick original chimney from the days it supplied its own electricity marks the spot. On the verge of being a complete ruin in the nineties, all the original splendour has been slowly and painstakingly restored and its doors are...

We only visited for drinks and snacks but we were bowled over by the loveliness of it all. This hotel is one of the older Australian properties and a real delight. It is very traditional and certainly worth a visit. We had a tour of the rooms and next time we will try and stay there.

My husband & I have just returned home after two nights at The Carrington Hotel. Lovely experience in this old Hotel that is filled with character at every turn. Interesting antiques in every corner, wonderful stained glass and ceilings ..... a real gentle step back in time. We had a Colonial room with en suit. The stained glass windows in...

Dear lyn227 We take the privacy and security of all guests seriously, and our hotel records show a detailed incident report on this matter with the duty manager. Part of our Duty Manager's role is to undertake regular security checks of the accommodation rooms on the upper floors and confirm if anyone found on these floors is staying in house....

It's a lovely quirky old mansion. Squeaky floorboards, old style lift, delightful. Paid for a spa bath room. I thought it was a wonderful restful experience after hard day walking. However, when I got out of the bath realised I had been sat in heaven knows what- as all sorts of debris had been pumped into the spa. The cocktail...

Spent the weekend for our wedding anniversary was so nice! Love the way it has remained so sympathetic to its original setting, yet feels very fancy and on par with any modern hotel. The restaurant and bar perfect for just staying in, the food was nothing less than perfect - very obvious they have a quality chef working there. The...

To my mind, there is very little grandeur left here and absolutely no sign of renovation, everything seems to be crumbling and creaking. I love historic places but the old furnishings and furniture lack comfort and much is not suited to purpose. There is nowhere of comfort to sit outside and inside is too dark. The view, which should be...

Lovely, old hotel. Very charming feel. Comfortable and large bed, and clean room. The bar and restaurant were fantastic and the meal we had was lovely. The bar had some local beers on tap (although I can't recommend the American Pale Ale as it was very sour beverage) but the bar staff do need a little more training (bitters goes...

Love the heritage and ambiance of this hotel. The building is fantastic with heritage, but to make the stay all that much better the staff are just brilliant. A smile from every one of them, a genuine smile not just a paid service smile. Our room was great, clean and crisp. Wish I could stay longer. I have stayed at...

Pleasant staff and lovely interesting decor. We had a twin share room which was very comfortable. We also had shared facilities. While the shared facilities could do with a face lift they were clean...the pressure of the shower more than made up for the peeling paint! Continental breakfast was nice and served in the Grand Dining room. Cocktails on the...
