Love the heritage and ambiance of this hotel. The building is fantastic with heritage, but to make the stay all that much better the staff are just brilliant. A smile from every one of them, a genuine smile not just a paid service smile. Our room was great, clean and crisp. Wish I could stay longer. I have stayed at...

Pleasant staff and lovely interesting decor. We had a twin share room which was very comfortable. We also had shared facilities. While the shared facilities could do with a face lift they were clean...the pressure of the shower more than made up for the peeling paint! Continental breakfast was nice and served in the Grand Dining room. Cocktails on the...

From the moment you enter it's just beautiful. Lovely reception rooms with gorgeous furnishings. Fabulous verandah area. Would like to have stayed for lunch but it was too busy this day. Well worth a visit though. It just takes you back to another time. Beautiful.

We had a short mid week break here staying in a premier room. The hotel is old and historic, which can sometimes mean uncomfortable with limited modern features. However, not the Carrington, where our room was large and the bathroom modern while the hotel retained its high quality period features and is full of character. The location is great, right...

Place looks dated but classy. Rooms were clean and comfortable especially the Spa view room. We took advantage of the weekday package which includes dinner at the neighboring the Old City Bank Brasserie which was superb. There is also cellar nearby containing selection of wines from nearby region. The salesperson was very knowledgeable of all the product. Lookout also for...

On arrival we were informed that the hotel dining room was closed due to a week-end function and that we could not obtain food there We were directed to outside establishments which was not ideal especially when the mist and rain arrived Very disappointing!

Dear Jean K When guests book directly with the Hotel, we have the opportunity of advising them of events at the Hotel during their stay but unfortunately we do not have this opportunity when rooms are booked via external online sites such as booking.com. We can only then advise upon arrival at the Hotel. The Carrington Hotel hosts a wide...

Called in for afternoon tea and we were pleasantly surprised. The hotel is a remnant of bygone days perhaps a little tired but a welcoming Oasis in the hustle and bustle of Katoomba. The staff were very efficient and polite and our afternoon tea delightful.

We turned up a day early..our mistake...in the pouring rain (always a risk at this time of year). The lady at the desk couldn't have been more helpful...whilst there were no balcony rooms available (no loss since the rain was teeming down), we did get a lovely room with a spa. That night, we ate at the hotel restaurant, which...

We stayed at The Carrington for our first Christmas 'Down Under' and we certainly don't regret choosing it. Yes, it is a little dated and showing some signs of being a bit rough around the edges, but that is part of the lovely charm. If you want full modern luxury then this hotel may not suit you. If you like...

We stopped in for lunch one Saturday. A great menu was on offer, reasonable prices. We had options of sitting in the bar, the lounge or on the terrace. We sat on the terrace which was lovely. The staff were very friendly, and one in particular was very knowledgable about previous owners and had great stories for us. It was...
