We stayed here for a well deserved break. The house is lovely with a wonderful host. Set in a lovely cottage garden this is like a step back in time. Roaring fire in the front room, lovely bedroom with its own en suite. Breakfast is wonderful with a Scottish Breakfast with Black Pudding and Haggis) or English Breakfast, with lighter options available too. We are loving our stay here and can thoroughly recommend this B&B for a relaxing stay in the Blue Mountains

The Argyll is a charming, old-world style bed & breakfast that is centrally located only a short walk away from the main shopping/dining street of Leura. The rooms are big and the bed comfortable. Our ensuite was a bit cramped (it had been retro-fitted into the old house and consisted of shower, basin and toilet in a cubicle), but adequate. The breakfasts are great and more than bountiful! The owner/manager is very helpful (but be sure to do as she says!) and the free sherry & brandy is a nice touch. Having a wood fire burning all day in the slow combustion stove was also a bonus during our winter stay. Negatives: Bedroom was a bit dusty. WiFi was very slow in the evening and appeared to be turned off overnight.

Cherril is a lovely host with a nice B&B in the Blue Mountains. My wife and I took the train from Sydney for a 2 night stay in the Blue Mountains and Cherri's B&B is perfect for a getaway. There are only 4 rooms, so it will be quiet - it was full the weekend we were there, but we barely noticed. Breakfast was a great way to star the day. There are many short day hikes to do from Leura. The Prince Henry Clifftop walk takes about 3-4 hours and drops you right at the 3 Sisters in Katoomba, where you can walk into town for a late lunch. Leura is much recommended as a base than Katoomba, which is busier (by comparison). Leura has a few nice restaurants. I can recommend Silks and Zest. The Station Bar in Katoomba was good for afternoon beers. Leura is a sleepy town so a bottle of wine back at the B&B after dinner was a nice way to wind down the day. Lovely B&B with a fantastic and friendly host. Thanks Cherril!

Gorgeous B&B in the heart of Leura. The Spa suite was very spacious, private and comfortable with a large bathroom, spa bath and sitting room. Beautiful comfortable four poster bed. Breakfast was delicious, plenty of choice and the host very friendly.

We booked this through booking.com which indicated there was 1 room available. Despite our reservation being confirmed by email when we arrived we were greeted by the host Cheryl who immediately informed us that she was full and immediately subjected us to a rude and arrogant tone and laughed at us. We showed her the confirmation email and she seemed to make out it was our fault. "Why didn't you ring ahead" and "I don't have time to sit on the computer all day" we're some of the rants she came out with. There was no apology or explanation on why the room was depicted as 'available' on line. Even if she had said "Sorry there appears to be a misunderstanding but the room is not available I would have been OK with it but this woman is something else. It may be an OK place to stay but don't get on her bad side. I certainly won't be staying there.

Response from cherril, Owner at Argyll Guesthouse
Responded Jul. 25, 2016
I am sorry I did not help with your accommodation but I had already filled the Spa Suite and had not had time to take the availability off the computer as you had booked apparently 15 minutes before arriving as you were only around the corner from the Argyll. I have had many many happy satisfied guests who come again and again and in 15 years of owning this house I have had 3 people that I have been able to accommodate. I did try to explain but to no avail. Hoping you did manage to get somewhere to stay. Regards Cherril
